March 8, 2005 [New!] Small-scale "Nausicaa" US Theatrical Release This Summer
The English dub of Nausicaa will receive a small-scale theatrical release this summer according to sources close to Disney. This will be the first opportunity for US viewers to see the film on the big screen outside of the occasional film festival.

We'll post additional details as they become available.

Cool!

Neat. I assume this is the same version you can get on the DVD.

I assume it is. That is the entire article. I just hope they release it here as well.

I'd love to see it on the big screen, but by "small-scale" they probably only mean NY, LA, and Chicago.

Exactly. I expect a much smaller release than Spirited Away got. I am sure Disney will want to be able to advertise their big name voice actors in connection to the release. But I am afraid even that won't get it much more exposure than the DVDs are currently getting.

I'm not sure if I'd go or not. I know I want to see it subbed first. But I just don't like anime dubs, most anyway. The only thing is it would be fun seeing in on the big screen. Man, I cannot wait until I live in Japan and can just go see the movies in the appropriate language and all.
