It's pretty cool, but a little bloody. It gets really good. But I thought the ending was pretty weird...*shrug*

I saw a bit of an episode and thought that the animation was great, the characters were pretty diverse and cool, and the music was awesome.

I have seen most of the series: the first 5 discs, in addition to the last few episodes of the series (which I watched on Adult Swim). The main criticism I have heard about it is from people who think that it is excessively sad. If you aren't turned off by a particularly sad story, though, I would recommend it. The animation is beautifully done; also, aside from the violence and some swearing, it is fairly clean. As far as the level of violence goes, it is fairly consistent throughout the anime; if you have seen the opening episodes, you already have a good idea of how violent the rest of it will be.

Apparently there is not yet a review of the series in the database here, but there is another thread from a while back, and that might give you some additional information as well as some other people's opinions about the anime.

Cartoon Network has been rerunning the entire series Monday-Wednesday at
1:30 a.m. after Big O.
Wolf's Rain is by the same people who brought you Cowboy Bebop and Witch Hunter Robin. In fact Tsume is played by Crispin Freeman and Cher by Kari Walhgren in the dub.
It's a pretty good series.

I've seen the whole series, and in short, it made my jaw drop. The art is beautiful, the storyline is complex, and the ending is one that's pretty open ended, so what happened is kind of left up to your discretion.

Yeah, it's worth the watch, but highly depressing at the same time. :(

It's a bit heart wrenching toward the end when you suddenly realize what's happening. That's what makes the twist in the final ep. so surprising. It's also a reason why a lot of anime is so much better than regular tv.

Wolf's Rain is a good anime. I love the opening theme. *starts humming Stray*

Nah, I hated it. I can't believe that the people behind Cowboy Bebop managed to follow up with, not one, but two awful animes. WHR and WR were both terrible.

^ you're crazy. :P *fan of WHR and WR*

I would definitely recommend the series. Sad? sure. Worth it? definitely. I've seen the series (almost) twice, and now I'm watching again subbed. ^_^

What's "awful" about Wolf's Rain? (Unless of course you're one of those "kill all the wolves" people......rkk.)

I personally love it. It's bloody, yeah, but usually the wounds aren't exactly shown as wolves have fur and the fur hides most of it. The last three episodes left me thinking, "What. Just. Happened?? :waah!: ) It's just so sudden and...and...waaaah.

But it's a very clean anime. Just violence and occasional mild swearing. And the girl with the hair-clothes...

However, one thing bothered me. It's kind of stupid, but...it's the owl. o_O What is UP with that freaky owl?? (Please tell me if you know. I have all the episodes but haven't seen the one where they explain the owl...it reminds me of the Goblin King in the movie Labyrinth  ) I've had nightmares about it.

I think that is one reason why most don't like WR. I like it, but I just wish the ending could have been a bit more clear.

WHR was good, but I think alot of people felt at the end that there was more questions then answers. I just hope that make another WHR to give us some of the answers to those questions that came up at the end of show.

There's supposed to be a live action version of WHR coming out on Sci Fi Channel one of these days. However every time I check the Sci Fi Channel website lately I can't seem to find any info' on it.
As far as WR goes, the saddest part is what happens to Toboe. The others you kinda expect and even what happened to Cher wasn't too surprising or shocking, but Toboe being the youngest character...

I think it was or has been push back, so they could put their money into the Battlestar Galactica show.
Plus, he was the frist wolf to die too. I would have thought maybe he would have been close to last as for being killed.
Tsume was the closest to Toboe, even though at the beginning he was always a bit irked at Toboe's naiveity. After all Toboe was only a pup.

Wolf's Rain...in five seconds flat.
Kiba: Angst. Paradise.
Hige: Hi! I don't wanna go to Paradise but I'll come anyway.
Tsume: You people annoy me. The world annoys me. Check out my LEATHER PANTS!
Toboe: Can't we all get along? Can't I find a shirt that covers my belly button?
Tsume: I don't like you, kid. Which means I secretly do.
Cheza: This one is important to the plot.
Hubb: *sob* I love Cher. Also, I will get progressively scruffier throughout the series.
Cher: I don't love Hubb anymore, for some reason, but later I will. In the meantime, I'll be really mean to him and get kidnapped by this hot Noble.
Darcia: *kidnaps Cher* Why did I do that, anyway?
Quent: Whatever. Just let me kill the wolves, even though they're innocent and I know it.
Blue: Wake up, Quent! I'm still totally devoted to you!
Hamina: *dead*
Jagara: I love you, Darcia! Die!
Wolves: *wander through some filler*
Owl: Does anyone else find me really irritating?
*everthing comes to a head and stuff explodes*
*everyone ends up in the Noble's city*
Everybody: *lost*
Hige: Hey, guess what, guys! I'm a traitor, but maybe I'm not!
*another big fight*
Jagara: I still love you! *dies*
Darcia: Here, Kiba, take this weird round thing. It kinda looks like the one in Spirted Away.
Kiba: Cool. Let's go, guys.
*everyone wanders around and eventually meets up*
Hubb + Cher: *fall in love again* Hey, let's have vague conversations about stuff that's never gonna happen at the most inconvienient moments!
All The Humans and Toboe: *die melodramtically*
Cheza: This one is starting to get annoying. Let's go climb that mountain.
Wolves: Okey dokey.
Darcia: I'm insane now. *insert Book of the Moon quote*
Hige + Tsume + Blue: *get killed*
Kiba: *fights Darcia*
Darcia: *crunches Cheza*
Cheza: KIBA! OWIE!
Kiba: *kills Darcia and goes over to Cheza* We're the last living things on Earth. *pauses* What do you wanna do?
Cheza: This one doesn't know. Dissolve, maybe? *dissolves*
Kiba: Angst. Again.
World: *ends* Or do I?
Think happy thoughts.
