Hm, this isn't usually something that I'd be into. I watched a few videos and read some things, and it sounds interesting.

Anyone out there have some input for me?

Well, the two main characters who are both in high school have pre-marital sex. Apparently, it's "tastefully depicted", but it's there. I know alot of people here at CAA have stayed away from it for that reason.

Take that information and do with it what you will. :)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

OH MY HOLY CRAPNESS I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! sorry, a little overenthusiatic there. But seriously, i started watching this series cuz it was the only one that my friend had that i hadn't seen yet, and it might be one of my favorites. it has a very quirky way of being drop dead serious one second and then absolutely hilarous the next. i haven't quite made it through the series yet, but i think i've heard that the ending kinda sucks. anyway, that's just my input.
The Battles Over My Heart Moves On
I Kept My Mouth

I'll Build Them Up Again
The Battle's Over
Now My Heart Moves On
Today I Stand To Watch You Fall

I do really want to see this one, but I hear the show really goes downhill in quality around the 20s of eps, alot due to the fact of them getting a new director who obviously didn't do nearly as good a job.

2nd funniest anime EVER!!!!! I love Kare Kano!! The animation, the jokes, the love plot, it was all really good. The ending did kind of suck, but that was because the manga was still running but the show had to end. I think the first half of episode 24 would have made a GREAT ending, they whould have switched it with episode 26. The dub is also really cool. Veronica Taylor plays Yukino. I think the people who will get the maximum enjoyment out of the series are people who are familier with other Gainax anime, particularly Evangelion. There are a few rather amusing Evangelion in-jokes thrown in at a few places. It's true that the characters have pre-marital sex and it's also true that it's "tastefully done" In fact, a few of the guys in my club weren't even sure if they did it until I clarified it for them ^^;;

Veronica Taylor? Argh! Her name makes me wince after seeing Pokemon's dub. But I'll watch KK subbed anyway so who cares. ^^

Up until ep20, it was good. However, Anno (also directed Eva and other Gainax stuff) quit and the story fell apart. I didn't care for some of the moral issues.

I recall reading that the manga author actually *hated* the anime. But then again, I loved the anime and hated the manga. If it wasn't for the premarital sex is OK bit, I'd have recommended the series to people.

lol, Kare Kano was dubbed by the same studio that 4kids uses, so just about everyone had pokemon voices, except Arima and, I think, Asapin. Tsubasa was Lisa Ortiz, Rika (I think that was her name) and Yukino's mom were Rachel Lillis, Ted Lewis played Tonomi, and Megan Hollinghead played one of the sisters. I wonder what happened to her, she seems to have dropped off the face of the planet. Maybe she moved away from New York. The person they replaced her with, who now plays Nurse Joy and Mai from Yugioh, kind of sucks ><. And what are you talkin about, Veronica rocks, lol! Some of the sub voices of Kare Kano are kind of weird. Arima sounds like little Yugi from Yugioh subbed, Tsubasa is all nazily, and Yukino kind of grates on me. But Asaba rocks in any language!

Anyway I think Kare Kano would definitly be on my list of top 10 anime of all time. It rocks!

I thought the parts about being yourself and them falling in love were very sweet. :) Unfortunately, I didn't like the premarital sex. It's too bad that was there, because otherwise I rather enjoyed the series.

lol, well to each his/her own. I can't stand her after the way she did those horrific dub voices for Satoshi and Haruka in Pocket Monsters. They have great voices in the Japanese version, but her's are awful and completely untrue to the originals. >_<

Most of the aforementioned reasons really made this series take a nosedive. I think it hit an alltime record for recap material. The one episode where they had to use the paper figures taped to pencils or sticks speaks volumes about how much they were willing to put into animation costs (please don't talk to me about artistic license on that. I mean, they were paper figures taped to pencils???) The total lack of any real or implicated ending concerning the lives of the main characters who were rarely touched on in about the last 4 or 5 episodes. Add to that the lack of morals in regard to two characters that started out as great examples. I was very disappointed in this one.

I liked the paper figures (especially when they set Yukino on fire), but they really summed up how much the show how had changed from beginning to end. It's like they just didn't care. Filler episodes? Lackluster art? Directionless tangents? Apparently they couldn't be bothered to fix it.
Was anybody else bothered by the abrupt disappearance of Kazuma? They go through all that trouble to introduce his situation, set up what could have been a very interesting relationship with Tsubasa, and then he's never heard from again even though they now live in the same house. On top of that, Tsubasa goes from being complicated and believable to completely one dimensional! How frustrating that they left this avenue unexplored after going through all of that trouble to open it up.
lol, well I guess you wouldn't like Kare Kano's dub at all, since Yukino's voice sounds like a slightly older version of May's dub voice from AG. And I have now determined that our taste in dubs is probably COMPLETLY different, and my recommending any would be no use, considering that two of the dubs I consider to be the best ever (Slayers and Kare Kano) were BOTH dubbed by the same studio used by 4kids.

lol, I love the paper figures episode. That one had a ton of really weird wacky animation. The scene where Yukino fights that guy from Class F (I think) who's head was a paper cut out of one of the real life producers (again, I think) of the show was hilarious. I think the Kazuma thing, like most of the other sutff can be blaimed on the fact that the anime only went up to a certain point in the manga. I know his sub-plot with Tsubasa gets more development in the manga, but that part may not have been written by the time the anime finished. They really should have made a second season for the show, and maybe one day they will, since the manga is still going as far as I've heard.
