Nearing the end of Gundam Seed

Postby Mi-Ru-Me » Mon Feb 28, 2005 10:43 am

I am so stocked its 1 or 2 episodes and the series is done.

It is going to be awsome as heck with the new gundams and being the last episodes action packed. And the relationships are finnaly working out the way I want them to I am so happy. As happy as when Kira dumped Flay(She is evil as a she dragon with a spear through her heart).
And I hope that Laflaga dosnt die because I have this feeling that he might.
Well, if you want a spoiler...
He does
I ran into some spoilers that ticked me off for watching the rest of the series. I got to the point that I was supporting the normal Earth people. The characters seemed normal and likeable. The Coordinators on the other hand were a bunch of two dimensional characters who won battles too easily. Then I hear
that Bandai does a bait and switch, making ZAFT the good guys and the Earth Alliance the evil ones
, which I think sounds rather stupid given that ZAFT has been the ones killing civilians in unrestricted military strikes.

So I decided not to throw any more money at the series (if the Spoilers I heard were wrong, let me know and maybe I'll go back to it).

Don't get me started on Laucus either. Gets my vote for most annoying character...

Actually this is only the beginning.A lot of the main characters return for
Gundam Seed Destiny.I found a website dedicated to the various Gundam
shows about a week or so ago,it has a list of characters for both GS and
GSD.

And no FLAYE IS NOT EVIL!Or am I the only Flaye fan here? :shake:

Since I haven't been able to see the last couple of GS eps.and probably might not see the end I would like to know:Does Flaye survive?
I know I didn't see her name on the list for GSD,but that doesn't mean she
didn't survive or anything. It be sad if she ended up being killed as I think she was always one of the best characters although in the later eps. she
seems to have been underused.

i dont mind Flay, though she does seem a bit insane at times.
Flay dies in the last/second last episode she gets shot down in an escape pod by La Cruz (whose going a bit insane by then)
Here's my only beef: Did anyone ever see an ad from CN alerting us to the schedule change? Heck no! Just like when .hack//sign was moved to midnight. Why, CN, why? You let us know when the schedule changes any other time!

R.I.P.Flaye Allister. :(
She certainly deserved a lot better than that, especially since her father was killed as well.
I hope CN shows GSD next so we can have a chance of seeing the further adventures of the Archangel crew.
P.S.What happened to the former First Officer?

Is it me or did the creators of GS put a bit of a Star Wars theme into the series when they made it that Kira and Cagali were twins and also both Coordinators, although Cagali didn't learn she was until the end?(I got that factoid from the Gundam site I found awhile back.)

Can you Gundam Seed fans tell me what is the big attraction with this series please?:eyeroll: Don't get me wrong I like my Gundam from the original, to Wing, to 8th MS Team, Gundam 0083, etc. But honestly after watching a couple episodes of Seed and Destiny I was extremely bored.

It seems to play the same o'l Gundam cliches over and over from what I can see. I mean a teenager piloting an experimental Gundam who can kill 10 guys with the flex of an index finger. I mean comeon The Earth Alliance (Federation) and the ZAFT (Zeon). And ya can't forget about the Newtypes, I mean Coordinators... Heck even the majority of the mobile suits are almost ripped directly from the U.C. Century. And the antagonist character with a mask on, it's like Char and Zechs incarnate all over again. And of course the heroes being constantly pursued in the White Base *cough* I mean Archangel with the enemy at their heels. And do I even have to mention the mountain of seeping melodrama.

Yojimbo, you stated all of my objections to this series admirably. What with all these pro-SEED threads, it's nice to see that I'm not the only one who doesn't understand the attention it's getting.

its an awesome series, i watched 1 other gundam series and couldn't stand it, but watched seed and it ruled. Gundam series all have common themes etc. because there all made that way, from the ones ive seen (SEED & wing) SEED gets my vote for top quality hands down. The characters also rule, and the fight scenes are great - and the animation quality is excellent - unlike gundams predecessors

SEED is meant to take the things people liked from already established shows, strengthen them if possible, and at the same time appeal to the newest generation of viewers and older gundam fans.
Though underlying all that is to sell toys really :P

I liked Gundam SEED, but yes! I was thinking this almost exactly while I was watching it. Even though I've never watched the original MSG, I was wondering "wow, that Archangel sure looks like a White Base." The icing on the cake, I think, was the Zakus in Destiny.
she gets command of an earth alliance archangel class ship to hunt down archangel & attack plant. in the final assault on plant she ends up having a big fight on the bridge with the leader of blue cosmos who uses the cannons to kill muu la fraga (in strike) while trying to deystroy archangel. (he takes the shot for them, it would have vaporised the bridge otherwise) and captain ramius blows the heck out of the dominion (the EA archangel class)
whew, takes breath. sorry it thats too long winded, or says too much

Ireally Enjoy gundam shows and I have watched every one that come out onn cartoon network I just rewatched gundam 0083 stardust memory yesterday in anticipation of the last gundam seed episode

The only thing that I am angry about is that I never saw all of the original gundam because they quit showing it hafe way through.

and to elaborate I watched all the gundams but SD That show stunk.

and yes the bad guys from every series of gundam almost always were a mask even in G gundam

Bandai has announced that they have licensed the Gundam Seed specials to be released as a movie, Gundam Seek epilogue OAV and Gundam Seed Destiny. No big surprise really.

I'm looking forward with a bit of dread to tonight's ep.since I haven't seen GS for a couple weeks. The dread is knowing that Flaye is fated to die.I always hate it when a favorite character is killed off. :(
On the other hand my second favorite female character was Captain Ramius.
I liked her from the beginning when she was trying to get the Stryke up and running and get it away from ZAFT.IMO she's one of the best starship captains of any sci-fi series and would beat the bejeebers out of JAneway. ;)
I agree totally about SD Gundam.Just glad CN got around to showing a
REAL Gundam series finally! :thumb:

looking at Gunam Official, 45 should be airing in about less than 5 hours. Last episode should air on April 15th going by the calendar.

woo, I'll be home and insanely jetlagged for the last three episodes.

We didn't have either cable or Direct Tv back in those days.As a result the first Gundam series I really saw was SD Gundam.
Sadly next week is Flaye's death. :(
I think I'm the only one here who'll mourn her passing.Just shows how stupid war is in both fiction and real life.
