Bleach

Postby FadedOne » Thu Feb 24, 2005 7:13 am

Aight, so I downloaded 10 episodes of the unlicensed anime BLEACH the other day. Last night I started watching. haha, that is some of the ODDEST anime i've seen in awhile. Frankly I'm torn between loving it and being a little creeped out by the plot and the weird looking hollows. :P

So far i've seen um...3? episodes so I was wondering if anyone has watched a larger percentage and what you guys think about the content and general worth of watching more and getting further addicted.

My own personal opinion is the plot is really cool(come on...swords, monsters, ghosts, interesting characters, semi unpredictable plot...yeaah, i like!) and I like the art. haha, the opening music reminds me of a Japanese Linkin Park. o.o
But yeah, on the downside there's a decent amount of swearing from what i've seen(quite ignoreable...but sometimes I wonder how good an idea that is) and the relgious perspective is just WEIRD haha, and kinda dark. Prolly the only main concerned with me right now is the odd 'consuming souls' bit done by the hollows and the weirdness of that bit of things. but yeah....I can overlook most things if the story is going to be worth it.

yeaaah, so i'm rambling. But I hope someone can give me input here. :)

a little more on the bad religion side but otherwise from what i have seen its pretty clean. but the reason i say bad religion is just some of the stuff it reveals a little later on (havent seen the whole series but probably a big chunk of it)

Heh, the bad religion is what makes it cool. I've seen up to nine so far. I gotta get the link from SmartyPants again. I want more!!! Bleach is good! Such style. Kubo Tite is one of the coolest manga-kas ever.

I'm reading the manga and every so often get a chance to watch the anime from my son's computer. I'm not sure what episode he's on, whichever is the most recent I'd imagine knowing him. :eyeroll:

I love this show. I play the music, "Arigato" over and over and I just think its a great show. This is probably my favorite of the shonen titles that I've ever read or watched. That's just IMHO. ;) It's got great characters, and Kon is the best! :thumb: poor Kon

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I'm reading the manga. I don't consider the mythological aspects any worse than the typical shonen fare.

Yeah. I instantly liked "Arigato" when I heard it on the Bleach's ending credits. I gotta get a hold of the CD with that song. Orange Range's song at the beginning is pretty cool too but I like "Arigato" more.
