Actually Naraku is one of my favorite characters also. But that fact that he is behind almost every single problem in the series gets a little annoying after a while. I find it interesting that even though he is sooo evil he still has a soft spot for Kikiyou although he would never admit it.

My, I haven't seen this thread in a long time. I won't call this gravedigging, but I will remind everyone that such is frowned upon. Don't bring back a thread unless you have something new to say on the topic and there is not another recent thread about it.

Kenshin is a very different show, in a good way. Inu-Yasha-don't go there.

I've seen Rurouni Kenshin the whole way through and it is one of my all time favorites. It's a great story and a must see for any anime fan. Lots of action, drama, romance and comedy (though the comedy really disappears mostly as the series goes on). Kenshin is an excellent character and has alot of depth. I like the theme of his trying to redeem hismself for the many sins he committed in the past (though it sadly doesn't preach true redemption through Jesus Christ, the theme of redemption is still there). However, I must say I enjoyed the Samurai X OVAs even more. The best animation I have ever seen as well as incredible music and excellent, very moving stories. However, they all come in in an order, and it's easy to remember. See the Kenshin stuff in this order:
-Samurai X Trust and Betrayal
-the entire Rurouni Kenshin series
-Samurai X Reflection
The only thing I'm not sure about is where the movie falls in.

As for InuYasha, I have seen the first 27 eps, and so far it's great. It does have its fair share of bad eastern religion. There's the theme of reincarnation, and in ep 28 there's a "goddess". Also, there has been couple instnces where souls are stolen. This kind of stuff bothers me, but usually it's portrayed as evil. I like how it's a fight of good and evil. The heroes are really great, and the villains are very evil. One thing to note as well is that "demon" is a bad translation for this show. The creatures that often appear in InuYasha are "youkai" (mythical Japanese creatures). InuYasha is also part youkai. Give this one a shot, so far it has been very good for the most part. It's not super popular for no reason. ;)
One thing I want to know though is, where do the InuYasha movies fall into the series? o_O

well, Kenshin, I would say is worth a look but I would personally suggest you keep understanding of what your watching, they have a series of eps in the 3rd Arch of the show dealing with someone who thinks he is God basically... this strand can be taken as symbolic, Christian-mocking, or neither. It all depends on how you personally view it, also, near the very end of the show, their is a Feng Shui (I hope that is spelled right) ep line which I seriously did not enjoy. I think it is worth it, the best of it is the second arch IMO, than 1st, than 3rd. Forgive me if any of this seemed spoiler-ish to you, I tried not to be exact. But I would say however, if you see it, don't watch the dub, download them on the web or something, or rent the DVDs, the dub is...ok... for the most part, but a character from the second arch called Sojiro has a VERY ANNOYING DUB VOICE and can't pronounce the names well FOR BEANS...

InuYasha is my all-time favorite anime, just after seeing the first 3 episodes of it (plus I saw a few dub on adult swim), there is alot of eastern religion, and stuff like soul stealing, reincarnation, and false 'gods' (for example around ep 27 has a 'water god'). The translation as demon, is not accurate, they are actually beast-like mythical creatures called Youkai, not demons, the villains in the show are EXTREMELY creepy at times, but that doesn't bother me because evil is not a pretty sight, and because of the freakish appearances I find it more symbolic. They have awesome character development in this show, and they have done several things I never would have seen coming. I was hooked right away and they show has not lost its pace. My end opinion, I would watch carefully, but I would however, watch. Don't miss out, I love this anime, and if you like the anime as much as I do, you'll also love the manga, but that's another story... ;)

Inuyasha is my number two favorite anime of all time.Kagome is one of my favorite all time characters.I also like Kenshin, but wish CN would play the
opening theme.I love it.
They both have great characters. And one of the things I like about Kenshin is the way that Kaoru beats up on him whenever he does or says something to get her riled.
As far as Inuyasha goes...Every time Kagome yells "Sit Boy!"at Inuyasha I can't help but laugh because she tends to do it in some of the most ridiculous situations, like when there's mud on the ground or else he's crossing a stream and ends up falling in.
As far as Eastern Religion goes, you have to remember that Christians have never been in the majority in Japan,so any reference to religion will refer more to either Buddhism or Shintoism.

One note: what might could be edited is the "outtakes" section of bonus material. the voice acters have some language and inappropriate jokes from time to time.

Those are mostly bloopers though.

I only saw one that was remotely innappropriate...a guy was supposed to say "OW! MY ARM!!" when he awoke from being unconscious and he said...well, something else. I almost choked to death on my water. Not cola--I don't like that stuff.

By the way, about the "guy who thinks he's God". That's called the Christian Arc. And it's not as offensive as most people think it is; I've heard a lot about it and what happens is actually historical.........
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

Inuyasha is pretty good, but that one guy is right though. Inuyasha has reincarnation in it and all these other things. Personally, in my opinion, any anime is ok, as long as you keep straight with the Lord, all other things will become meaningless compared to him. I like Inuyasha alot though, mainly due to the plot line. But someoen should create an Anime that uses Christianization like I have, Aldean Chronicles. The Website is http://starwarsboy90.tripod.com/

lol, those outtakes cracked me up, partly because they were so unexpected. ^^
