i have no idea about that

As for the assertion of "zero fanservice," I think that's a bit misleading. If my perception of your definition of "fanservice" is correct, by the same definition movies like American Pie could also be considered to be free of fanservice because sex and sexuality are integral to the plot and any depictions thereof (no matter how much they might incite certain portions of the audience to lust) are not irrelevant and thus by definition not "fanservice." Perhaps labeling the content that some here have objected to as "fanservice" is not proper, but neither is implying that the show is completely innocent.
John316 wrote:Your perception of my definition of "fanservice" is a bit off. I would consider American Pie to have fanservice in it because the scene with Shannon Elizabeth nude is obviously designed to titillate the audience. FLCL has nothing like that.
Cap'n Crack wrote:It may be more subtle than American Pie but to say that FLCL contains nothing designed to titillate is simply absurd. Tell me honestly that Gainax, the studio whose name is literally synonymous with fanservice, put in every upskirt, breast bounce, and groped female chest with no thought to tapping into the hormones of their predominantly male heterosexual audience. A person may be able to "handle" these elements but to say that they are designed to be "handled well" is untenable at best.
John316 wrote:You can't be serious. Those aren't fanservice. Most of these are freeze-framed and recropped to add emphasis that wasn't there before. The bunny outfit is a reference to DAICON III, and Kamon jumping out of his clothes is a reference to Lupin. Haruko in a bathtowel in SD mode with no proportions should NOT be a turn-on. I also like how you included one scene of the sniper girl in full military uniform that covers pretty much everything.
