As I just mentioned on c.t.'s thread, I was inspired to write this. This is my first song. If I could write music, I would, but for now, all I can do is hear it in my head, and write out the lyrics right here. It's about getting to know yourself, and how that's one of the most important things you do in life. So here goes.
Find Your Song
Everyday I see him
Struggling to be a man
He doesn't know how to fight
He can't come up with a plan
Boy, I know your troubles
And I can tell you what is wrong
(Chorus)
There's a beat that flows through us
A rhythm that makes us whole
We all have a melody
That you can see in your soul
But if you don't know yourself
Then you're not going to last long
You can't make your name in the world
Until you find your song
All these decisions are coming
Being thrown left and right
And in this busy world
No one's going to show you the light
So tell me how you're gonna
Figure out what's right or wrong
(Chorus)
There's a beeat that flows through us
A rhythm that makes us whole
We all have a melody
That you can see in your soul
But if you don't know yourself
Then you're not going to last long
You can't make your name in the world
Unitl you find your song
It's the only way to be true
For who knows you more than you?
(Chorus)
There's a beat that flows through us
A rhythm that makes us whole
We all have a melody
That you can see in your soul
But if you don't know yourself
Then you're not going to last long
You can't make your name in the world
Until you find your song
No, you can't conquer the world
Until you find your song.
So, that's it. Again, there's music running through my head in this, but unfortunately, I don't know how to convey that to you. This was also directed to somebody I know and love (and it's not Andrew). Hoped you like it.
