Rev. Doc wrote:Probably one of the best moments of this whole series was last week's episode where all the other Titans were trying on Robin's costume. Raven of course was classic.
AnimeHeretic wrote:That's a series I just can't get into. Probably because I was a teenager in the 80's, when Slade (known as Terminator back then) was the enemy of Changeling (!) because Changling's girlfriend died when fighting Slade and the Teen Titans (man, she was evil!). Robin (called Nightwing, I think) was more of a straight arrow back then. The green-eyed alien girl was modelled for fanservice.
So, for me, it's kind of "What did they DO to them?" when I see it
I do like Puffy AmiYumi though

Doesn't it seem like more an more cartoon shows are having more anime-like designs to them? At least, I think that's the case on Cartoon Network. The style of drawing cartoons is drifting towards anime- like Teen Titans, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack- the line between cartoon and anime is becoming blurred.
(Sorry, I just had to stick that comment in somewhere)

termyt wrote:I know how you feel, old man. Modern comics are about 70% crap, 25% OK, and 5% good. There are some titles worth checking out, though. I highly recommend picking up the Batman: Hush graphic novels. Very good, indeed.
Robin became Nightwing in 84, not quite a year after Terra joined the Titans. The current Robin of the comic Titans is Tim Drake - the third Robin. The Robin in the cartoon acts more like Tim Drake, but he's been identified as **** Grayson. But that only makes sense. In the same respect, the comic book Raven is becoming more like the cartoon Raven. That just reflects an updating of characters for modern times.
Edit: Oops. Tripped the censor. Well, I'm sure you all know what **** means. It was innocent, I promise!
Lady Arianrod wrote:
I wonder if those symbols have anything to do with Raven's 'demonic' father.... Most likely. Even though this episode was centered around my favorite characters (Raven and Robin), I felt that Slade's return was a little underplayed. He was always my favorite villain, but his returning presence wasn't as strong as I hoped it would be. Oh well.
Good ep though.
kaemmerite wrote:Heh...good episode tonight...even if they did borrow HEAVILY from Sailor Moon S. When I saw the vision of what the city was going to look like, I started having flashbacks to the Silence that were sprinkled throughout S.
Not to mention that Raven does look slightly like Hotaru-chan.

The Doctor wrote:From what I've heard, they weren't pairing Robin and Raven together, just making them closer friends, which is fine with me.

This isn't even REAL life! Why should I care!?!?!!!
