Kodocha?

Postby Sango » Tue Jan 18, 2005 3:46 pm

Hey, guys!

I've been thinking of picking up Volume 1 of Kodocha (or "Kodomo no Omocha"), but first I wanted to know if it's a good series, or if there's anything objectionable in it?

Opinions are much appreciated =)

Can you tell me what kind of content it has, as well as the story?

I love Kodocha! It's about a 11 year old girl, who's an actress, and her friends and stuff. And it has mild language and some suggestive theams, but it's not too bad. I'd guess it's rated PG... Though, I haven't read the manga, I've only seen the show.

Cap'n Crack, official bulldog of Kodocha here. I am thrilled to hear that you will be giving the manga that spawned my all-time favorite anime series a try.

The manga has what I considered a bit more risque subject matter, especially toward the end when,
In a moment of Sana being depressed, Hayama and Sana talk about having sex with each other. This is particularly distressing considering they're in either 7th or 8th grade, I can't quite remember. However, Sana's mother catches them and puts a stop to that before having a serious talk with them.
Other than that, Kodocha has some mild language and there's talk of Sana referring to her agent as her "gigolo", but she doesn't really understand the meaning of the word and that stops after a scene where Sana's mother drops a ton of bricks on her after explaining a bit of truth to her about her agent. Um. If you're mature enough to handle the aforementioned, I think Kodocha is a great manga. I got a lot of laughs out of it, and I think it's in my top 10 favorite anime series. That's weird for me to admit considering it's such a hardcore shoujo series. I enjoyed it, though.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

It's a very engrossing manga; I adore it. There are barely any bad things in it, but they've already been mentioned. Overall, it's a cute series about growing up and such. I'd say it's rated PG-PG13. You'll get sucked in once you read a couple. At least, I sure did! ^_^ Btw, KOBUSHInoTENSHU, you're pic is sweet!!! Daisuke/Riku FOREVER!! Heehee...
