To escape his boring life, the vice count Albert de Morcef, son of a rich noble of Paris, takes a voyage interplanetary with his friend Franz d'Epinay. It brings them right to Luna, where they meet the Count of Monte Cristo, on which there are many rumours: extra-terrestrial, monster, vampire? What ever it is, Albert is fascinated with the charisma that released from the Count, who leads a life surrounded by superb women. At the occasion of the carnaval and his public execution (?), the Count proposes to Albert to play cards in order to save one of the condemned to death (?). The young man accepts this risk, but so falls with no doubt into a complicated position.
The studio Gonzo astonishes us once again with its penchant to alter the anecdotic with series such as Vandread, Bakuretsu Tenshi or Gravion, and the original, such as Last Exile and this series, Gankutsuô. Here, they seem to have left the green light to Mahiro Maeda (Blue Submarine #6, Final Fantasy: Unlimited) for a psychedelique futurist interpretation of Alexandre Dumas's The Count of Monte Cristo. A work that is taken by a choice of innovant colours and transparent textures that are applied on the characters. The result is shimmering and bewitching, and we wait with impatience the continuation to verify if all this isn't just dust to the eyes.

I'm sorry, this isn't very much, and my translation is horrible~
