favorite manga artists

I've started getting into manga and I was curious who are some of everyone's favorite artists.
And if anyone had any recommendations?

^O^/ Sakura Kinoshita! Beautiful art, awesome mythology related story lines, and almost 100% clean (almost, but not quite. ^.^; )

*gets hit over the head with a pot* x_X; Yes I know I'm a fangirl...hm. I'd also highly reccomend Yukiru Sugisaki and some of Ohkami Mineko's series (namely Dragon Knights, some of the other things she's drawn are kinda disturbing. ^^; )

Yuu Watase, Natsuki Takaya, Nobuhiro Watsuki, and Fuyumi Souryo are all some of my favorite manga artists. But especially Watase. ^_^

Ken Akamatsu (Love Hina, Negima), Koshi Rikudo (Excel Saga), Kiyohiko Azuma (Azumanga Daioh, Yotsubato), Yoshiyo Usui (Crayon Shin-chan)

Edit: Stay clear of Rikudo's other titles though! He did a lot of hentai in the early days.

YASUHIRO NIGHTOW!! He's got some problems with proportions, but otherwise, he's got terrific art!
And a word of warning: His action stuff isn't for the weak-stomached. Very bloody. *_*
Think happy thoughts.

Tanemura Arina is my favorite artist. Many of her titles are clean romances (no sex, nudity, very mild language) and only 1 has mildly overt religious overtones to it.

Disclaimer: This doesn't mean that the mangaka I listed here are OK for all Christians. Everyone to their personal convictions.

Watsuki Nobuhiro (Rurouni Kenshin, Gun Blaze West)
Great artwork in RK, especially Vol 11+. His latest manga, Busou RenKin is a little.....strange though.

Kazuya Minekura (Saiyuki, Bus Gamer)
Angsty cool bishies in a fallen corrupted world, enuff said.
Warning: Some titles are ai-shonen and it's not uncommon to see bishies with exposed chests and unzipped pants.

Kubotite (Zombie Powder, Bleach)
Supernatural stuff + the punk style. :thumb:

Kentaro Yabuki (Black Cat)

Hiroaki Samura (Blade of the Immortal)
Great art + old Japan + fight scenes + emotions that go with it.
Warning: Expect much violence and blood.

Gosho Aoyama (Detective Conan)

Yukiru Sugisaki (DNAngel)
Not really crazy about his story-telling but the art is crazy gorgeous yet clean

xD; Actually, reports have confirmed that Yukiru Sugisaki is, in reality, a petite lady who likes collecting bunny related items.

Nanaji Nagamu (Parfait Tic) She's my favorite. Everything about her art - perportions, character designs, backgrounds, I love. I especially love how she colors hair *.*

Nobuhiro Watsuki (Rurouni Kenshin) He has a clean, sort of delicate style that really compliments a shonen story.

Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) He has one of the most original styles I've ever seen. I love all the detail and the way the fight scenes are drawn.

Daisuke Higuchi (Whistle) His art is very clean. The detail is perfect all the way down to the brands of the soccer cleats.

I also love Ken Akamatsu's style, but his works are too fanservice-y for my taste.

She draws a lot of cute hairstyles for Fuuko in Parfait Tic. I agree with you, she is also really good :)

Yukito Kishiro (BAttle Angel Alita--cyber-punk, action/fight/adventure/robot gore, and flan-eating mad scientists)

Matsuri Akino (Pet Shop of Horrors--shojo, lots of pretty things and lots of bishies, fantasy/horror)

Kohta Hirano (Hellsing--very detailed (even the blood), dark action/horror, lots of bodies, very original superdeformed characters and man are they really deformed)

As has been mentioned, CLAMP has some of the best artwork I've seen.

I also like Koge-Donbo, who does Pita-Ten; and Koshi Rikdo of Excel-Saga.

A couple that I've not seen mentioned are Yuichi Kumakura and Kei Toume, the manga-ka for two of my favorite series. Kumakura does Jing: King of Bandits. It's set in a fantasy world and has some very nice artwork. Do note that there is minor nudity in most of the volumes, nothing distinct, and some swearing on the d/h level.

Which brings me to Kei Toume, author of Lament of the Lamb. At his best (I assume it's a he) he rivals CLAMP. Be aware he uses every swear word I know, and there are hint of incest later on. Aside from that, AWESOME series. As one member said, "It's the cleanest manga that's still disturbing that I've seen in a while."

Did I mention vampirism?

I must add the following as well:

Tsukuba Sakura : Land of the Blindfolded / Mekakushi no Kuni

Sakura Asagi : Gundam Wing, Blind Target

Great art and both clean :)
