Lo all I was sucked into this forum because of another forum that I was sucked into.

Little bit about me:

Im an australian but currently in Japan on excange. I like anime but most of the stuff here isnt too good. (specially now that I can translate it). Might just be me.
Im also a christian (these mix forums are getting weird) and a games programmer.

My drawing has improved over the last 5 months and im planning on doing my own small comic series (dont read it please) with the same story as my game.

I also like these emoticons, the drip is a must have!

So can someone tell me what happens around here?

lots of stuff... I followed you in here because I am paranoid of trolls, but you look legit so far... Um... Welcome here, and you don't like the anime on TV in japan right now? What about rumic theater? You should watch that one, it's great... Unless it allready ended... I haven't really kept up.

You came at a quiet moment in the middle of abig troll invasion, so newbies are looked at more carefully... We're all a bit frazzled at the stuff that's happened. Really nasty obscenity, hentai links, all sorts of stuff... But the admins may seek legal action, so that will stop soon. In the mean time, this is a great place to meet other christians into anime, which may be hard to find otherwise. Oh, and you'll need to tell me about Japan (I plan on going next year!)

Ooopps... I'm very tired, please don't freak out when you read this... I'm not even a mod... But I'm just giving you a heads up that there have been a lot of trolls in here lately...

Japan is great, people are nice, language is dead easy. And I cant wait to get out(one more month!). Probably because everything is repetitive. Rice 3 times a day. Alot of cold fish. I have been here 6 months anbd heven gone a single day without having to eat rice. Actually its starting to taste quite good now. Its gone fast had alot of fun.

OK I dont like most of the Anime here because they only show new shows on TV. And they arnt too good, the storys are getting really wacky or stupid. And the endings always suck. Though there are some good shows like:

One peice
Naruto
Detective Conin

And the manga is a nice read, specially those books that are bigger then harry potter 4.

The problem is that the Japanese like to drone on a series forver...like a new pokemon movie just game out, and a new godzilla movie. They have some shows still running from the 80s, though there not really drawn to well (like shinuske which is bad by even american standards).

Legal action? Hope that all clears up :/ Anyway this is like my 6th forum so and since im bored ill probably be spamming here alot.

Oh I only have MSN not AIM. Though send us an emal:

Actually, they are much better about it than American TV shows... There are a lot of shows in Japan that are made to end after one series... any in the US? Well, 24 was made with that in mind, but it didn't end up that way... That's one of the things I love about anime shows... They DON'T all drag on and on.

Hmm I never compared cartoon to real shows but now that I think of it your right. Maybe im expecting American style cartoons where everything turns out the same in the end and the next episode starts off at the same spot. :P

Oh, that's what you meant by "dragging on"

Having a story that went from one end to another... Well, I don't consider that "dragging on"

Hmm anime that i don't think "drag on"

I, My, Me Stawberry Eggs
Onegai Teacher
Serial Experiments Lain
Martian Successor Nadesico

Shows taht dragged on a bit

Inu Yasha
Sailor Moon

Shows that dragged on way too long, and were just cash cows that were being milked

DBZ
Gundam (and all it's variants)

Something many people say has been dragged on, but I disagree:

Final Fantasy series (reason why? Each game is a self contained story)

In any case... I really can't wait to go to Japan...

I need sleep... WHY DO I KEEP RESPONDING TO YOU??? You're newbieness has a hypnotic effect on my tired clouded brain... I keep responding and waiting for that next message board fix... **goes crazy** daddy needs his medicine... Um... yeah

Plus, I did my good old standby to not having anything valid to respond... My famous "lists" yeah! SO I really need sleep, you should slap me if I respond again!

Just do that, ok? Slap me if I respond again... I really need sleep, and I'm becoming incoherent... (by the way, for future reference, posts like I'm making right now belong in the goof off section, and if this weren't a response to a welcome, a mod would prolly move it... This sort of post belongs in the goof off section... or in a museum, but I guess that just doesn't make any sense at all...)

Ok... really... this is the last... post... I'll... make... tonight... I sw..., ok, I just got out of a big argument on that, so I don't swear... Swearing (in the true sense) BAD! No swearing... Let my yes be yes and my no be no... I will stop responding...

Yeah inuyasha does drone on a bit. And dragon balll woah, though the manga version was good probably because gokus spirit bomb only took 2 pages insted of 2 episodes.

Also by drone on I ment are still going when noone cares.

Pokemon, godzilla (like upto the 50th movie), bayblade. Mostly just the kid shows that are on all of the channels because kids are the target audience.

The good shows are usually on in the middle of the day or later at night, which is annoying. Then again theres an alright show on every day. Only 2 of them finished last week :o

Oh and where do I get AIM (im a total n00b).

How long will you be staying in Japan for? And I gotta give you some tips and stuff that is good to know before you go. I figured out the hard way :(

I LOVE INUYASHA! That being said, yeah I kinda agree. I mean, I love the characters, the plot, the setting... But the characters seem to be taking a long time to develop and there are a lot of "filler" episodes in my opinion. Why do they drag out the romance so much? Can't Kagome and Inuyasha just confess their feelings already! They're in denial! OK, I'm done...

They just watch new shows? I didn't know that. For the top 100 rated animes Astro Boy won 3, which was created about 30 or 40 years ago, most likely more. Lupin III rated 2, and that is a really really old Anime. I think these were voted on a little less than a year ago. Also in Japan, people still Enjoy Seven Samurai, and heck that was in black and white. The reason why they hold on to the movies Such as Godzilla and everything is most likely because of the demand. Heck I still want more Samurai movies sequeled to The Seven Samurai. I doubt that is going to happen though.

Where are you at in Japan at the time?

As well as, Kangei, Ikaga desu ka?

Enjoy your stay!

Yeah they do have some of the old shows (i thought I said that) such as:

Doreimon
Astroboy
Shinusuke
And a heap of others, there actully quite good.

As for godzilla, I thought it was dead (why there was an american version). I donno I looked at a movie poster book and it just looked really repeditive. Gdzilla and the moth, Godzilla and the moth with the robotic Godzilla that has rockets on its back etc.

Seems that a few anime series are ending now and some really good ones are comming in (but I only have a month left :mutter: ). Also the new series of naruto just started. Wonder how long it will take for Naruto to coume out in Aus.

Im in Konko, a town about an hour form okaiyama.
