question about Last Exile

Postby heero yuy 95 » Sat Jan 08, 2005 11:52 am

I think lat exile looks really cool and they have two dvds at my local gamestop. I'm thinking about picking them up but have one question.
I've read stuff about them and I know there's no nudity or crud like that, but one question remains. Do they take God's name in vain? this is my biggest concern. violence and cussing don't really bother me. Thanks in advance. :)

From what I have seen and remember, I don't recall them taking God's name in vain.

The do have some explisitives, but from what I remember, it was less than a few episodes of Star Trek: TNG.

Also, check the review thread: http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?t=12793

I haven't seen all of every episode, but I don't recall it either.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Similarly, I haven't seen all quite all of Last Exile, but I don't remember anyone taking the Lord's name invain in the twenty episodes or so that I've seen.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

If it eases your conscience any, I don't think that the Lord's name is used in vain as much in subtitles, and even then I don't think they are accurate translations, but I'm also not a fluent speaker of Japanese.

There is very little violence in Last Exile and no taking of God's name at all. Its a great series!

What violence there is in LAst Exile is the result of the fact that they're at war.
However there is a series of scenes in the Guild Flagship where...
Alex Rowe is
shown hanging on a cross covered with roses that Delphine is using to torture
him with. Also he later kills her with his remaining strength by crushing her wind pipe.In an earlier scene Dio takes part in a Guild ritual where the winner has to
kill the other contestants in order to claim a sword that is the sign of leadership.
Finally after Dio has gone completely insane he dies falling out of his van ship.
Please put that in a
block so people who have not seen the end of the series will not be spoiled.
