3.18.04 - Viz Announces Second Edition Printings

Postby Staci » Fri Mar 19, 2004 4:20 pm

Viz announced on March 18th, 2004, that it would begin Second Edition printings for some of their most popular Manga titles. The following link stated one of the main reasons is to lower prices on Mangas for those who may find collecting expensive.

I, for one, think this is a great idea because competitors will want to drive down costs in response. For some time Manga's tag has dropped but this may set it in stone. Furthermore, Viz is doing this to their most popular published series - Ceres Celestial Legend, Fushigi Yuugi, Ranma 1/2, Inu Yasha, etc. Thankfully, they are not some bargain-bin run-of-the-mill Manga and the real deal!

Very exciting, indeed! :thumb:

I know... Ranma was one of the first manga I started to collect, and that was over three years ago. They still haven't finished releasing it yet... *sweatdrop*

While I like the new prices, I'm kind of upset about how the format is smaller. Now my books don't line up all pretty anymore... *cries*

I think it was a great idea, I have noticed many new fans as a result of it. My bro has both the old and new BAA and I know some who have some of the other titles, its cool to see different covers and such ^^
