AMV=Best Anime Idea Ever

Postby Joshua Christopher » Wed Jan 05, 2005 9:59 am

So, anyone out there into Anime Music Videos? I absotively love them. In fact, I'm currently working on one... and when it's done, EVERYONE on this forum HAS TO download it...please?
Well, until then, you'll need an account at the .Org

http://www.animemusicvideos.org

There are some re-ALLY great vids on the site. Also, I can send you a small clip of one of mine if you want to contact me via AIM, if you're interested in AMVs.

By the way, for the uninformed, and anime music video takes clips from anime and puts them to a song. AMVs that are considered 'good' are the ones that synch up with the music.

So, if you'd like to see what I mean with a little preview, gimme a ring on AIM.

I'd gladly download any that you or anyone else here has made.

CURRENT PROJECT:
Giant Robo(best anime ever)-Under Ice
SONG: Under Ice by Stark Effect...

Under Ice is a remix, taking Queen & David Bowe(sp)'s "Under Pressure" and Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby"
The reason this works is that Vanilla Ice sto-...er, "borrowed" Under Pressure's music but rapped over it.
And you know what? Under Ice is a *REALLY* cool song.

If you want a little preview of my video, AIM me ^_^

One AMV is really got a kick out of is "Tainted Donuts" where the creator melded Trigun and Cowboy Bebop clips so well that it looks like Spike and his crew are actually hunting down Vash for his bounty. I mean...some of the video editing is superb!

I love AMV's! I download them from animemusicvideos.org

It's been a while, so I should go there. I need to check out the other sites mentioned here too.

Just a question - is it legal to download AMVs? It's illegal to download music and anime, but is it legal to download AMVs?

Probably. You aren't downloading just an mp3, and not a full length anime, just clips.

If you want to know how to make AMVs, you need an editing program.
Windows XP comes with Windows Movie Maker. It's great for beginners.

I'm hard at work on my video, and thus far, it's "freakin' sweet!"-Napoleon Dynamite

"Sweet!" I'll be sure to download it when it's done. I have an idea for a AMV... I just need to get around to doing it. Sounds like a lot of time and effort.

because it is un-christian. Like, you sin, I sin, we sin. But God forgives that. As Christians we are to forgive one another. Hate the sin, love the sinner.

Anyway, they have some pretty hilarious azumanga daioh ones as well

I'm still trying to learn Premier, as of now I just use Windows Movie Maker. It's a great program for simple, non-effects videos.

By the way...

Can anyone link me to a free trail or some type of free program that allows me to convert .VOBs into .AVIs?

I use this to rip stuff from DVD's

Smartripper however that download is not working for me right now. I'm currently trying out DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0 which seems pretty good. I'm gonna try it out later tonight.

and for concerning VOB files into AVI. I use

DVD2AVI It's listed under "Decoders".

Most of this stuff can be found at AMV.org in thier Guides section...under AbsoluteDestiny & ErMaC's Technical Guides to All Things Audio and Video mk2.

Those are fairly easy to use. If I remmber right, other members do AMVs (Lorentzforce and Inkjet...oh yeah and OrangeKitten - I havn't seen him for a loooonnng time).

Something jsut occured to me..am I allowed to post those links?

By the way, if you ever see "vorx" around the forums, that's me (At AMV).

After comparing Smartripper and DVD Decrypter 3.5.2.0, I find DVD Decrypter easy and better to use,

I made a couple cheesy amv's a while back. I think they were:

Dead Poetic - New Medicines with NGE, Hellsing, Rurouni Kenshin, and Trigun.

Every Time I Die - Floater using Blood: The Last Vampire, Cowboy Bebop, Princess Mononoke, and Rurouni Kenshin.

I think my ETID video is better, because it actually got an opinion. But they are both just action videos I threw together when I was bored. They are on AMV.org so check them out if you want.

Glad you liked it. Yeah, that video was just me screwing around with windows movie maker and seeing what I could do with it. My second video is much better I think. I tried using some effects and more action sync.
