Live action anime

Sorry if this has been done already!

If you could turn an anime/Manga into a live-action movie and it would be guaranteed to be a smash hit, which one would you choose??

I wouldn't pick any. IMO, live action can't properly represent the characters, events, places, and objects in anime. They're two different art forms.

Your mileage may vary.

On second thought, if it were guranteed to be a smash hit, then either Excel Saga or FLCL. It'd be worldwide news.

if the characters could be well portrayed, Azumanga Daioh....
However that's kinda impossible so making a Azumanga Daioh live action would be horrible ^_^;;

Trigun. I like Westerns.

And if I had to pick a game to turn into a movie, Metal Gear Solid.

You won't have to pic. I heard a few weeks back they were going to film a Metal Gear movie. No word on what characters will appear or who will play them.

hmmmm.....an anime series into a smash hit live action movie, hmmmmmmmmm..........oh gosh, i'd have to say either one of the gundam shows or rurouni kenshin, one for my scifi addiction and one for my swordfighting addiction, he he he....., actually a live action rurouni kenshin might be pretty good 'cept for the fact that it would prolly be too close to being like the last samurai which is a real live action movie, aw well, perhaps in 5 years it wouldn't be such a bad idea,

Personally I don't think any would do well as Live Action unless it was a basic one without any special effects for powers. Something like Imadoki would be relativley simple and wouldn't look bad in Live Action.....

I think that these days any fantasy swords and sorcery style movie is going to be a success. But I always wondered what Ah! My Goddess! would look like as a live action. I have the first three episodes of a jdrama called Gokusen and it's based off of an anime andit's really good. Don't know what the anime is like, but the live action is hilarious.

Yeah sometimes it is other way around where there is live action series first then follow by anime which is the case for GTO where by the way the live action series seen to me is a bit better then the anime itself where sometimes I feel so heartwarming about it.

Noir would probably work well in live action, but Last Exile sure wouldn't. Its a unique medium (anime and manga) they don't need to be made live.
