Postby rocklobster » Wed Dec 22, 2004 1:09 pm

Okay, with 2004 almost over, I want to know which new series rocked your tubes? My vote goes to Last Exile and Rave Master.
  • Last Exile
  • Case Closed
  • Witch Hunter Robin
  • Wolf's Rain
  • Gadguard
  • Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex
  • Full Metal Alchemist
  • Rave Master
  • Gundam SeeD
  • One Piece
  • F-Zero GP Legend
  • Duel Masters (okay, this one sucked!)
  • ROD the TV
  • Gungrave
  • Super Milk Chan (ugh! ADV, what were you thinking? Were you tring to ruin CN's rep?)
  • Astroboy (2003 version)

shouldn't this be in the anime forum? *shrugs*

Anyways the best anime, to me, would be either GTO (Great teacher Onizuka) or Fighting Spirit (Hajime no Ippo).

Gundam Seed
Last Exile
Witch Hunter Robin
Wolf's Rain

These are the ones I saw and liked, some more than others, but these have to be my top choices ^^

I haven't seen much anime, so I'm a bit biased when I say Last Exile!

How about Beck, Bleach, Genshiken, Gankutsuou, Samurai 7, Samurai Champloo, Tsukuyomi Moon Phase, Yakitate Japan - You're missing a few series in your list.

try http://www.animenfo.com/animebyyear.php?year=2004 for a longer list. (Oh no, I'm starting to memorize animeinfo's URI scheme and arguments! And I thought just crafting various google web/image/other queries from memory was bad...)

yeah, almost all the ones you listed are older. NOT 2004 stuff.

Mine? Bleach. I loved it. Some people didn't like it so much, but I really dug it.

I think the person that made the thread was talking about what New Anime TV Series in 2004 that was showed on TV.

Yeah, if you look at as when it was on TV in Japan, watch fansubs or watch it on DVD, then just about all of them wouldn't be new.

Well, Super Milk Chan is amazing...

I'd say One Piece, but the dub is awful...

Fullmetal Alchemist is cool, but overrated...

Naruto isn't out yet...

Giant Robo came out in '92...

...

I have given this a lot of thought. Go Tetsujin 28!! ...Er...
My vote goes to Astroboy. Osamu Tezuka is my hero.

i believe Naruto came out in 2002 or 2000 in Japan, so i wouldnt count that as a 2004 anime. Unless you're reffering to America

I think what is being referred to here are those shows that hit the American airwaves in 2004. It that is the case my vote goes to Last Exile.

Last Exile
Samurai 7

It's hard because I've only got REALLY into anime this year. The amount of sweet awesome series I've seen this year is mind blowing. But anyway - those are my picks.

Fullmetal Alchemist and Last Exile... Those dubs are pretty good (as in I could watch them without screaming at the TV/trying to saw my ears off with a spoon) but FMA's dub just doesn't do it justice. I would encourage everyone to buy at least one DVD just to hear the Jap. Its awesome. Let's see... what else have I watched....
I haven't watched all of Samurai 7, but I like it so far. And Bleach is good too, but I'm only on ep. 7 or 6.
