Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles

As you can see from my avatar, I love Tsubasa- Syaoran and Sakura are my favorite anime couple! So, has anyone read Tsubasa? If you have, I'd love to read your thoughts on it! (I haven't read Vol 3 yet, so don't give away its details, lol!)

Tsubasa is a fantasy series by CLAMP loosely based on their previous mangas (cardcaptor sakura, chobits, etc.), and it is just plain awesome! Syaoran (also called Li) is forced to embark on a dangerous journey through different worlds to regain the lost memories of the one he loves most: Sakura. However, even though all her memories may be restored, she will never retain her memories of him ever again. Even though Syaoran knows they can never love each other in the same way again, he begins the quest anyway, demostrating his true love.
It sounds utterly shoujo, but it's actually a shonen comic (if i'm correct...) someone correct me if i made any mistakes. Anyway, its loads of fun!

Yeah! I'm really enjoying Tsubasa! Funny thing is I read the 3rd volume before the second. I can't wait for the 4th volume. It's quite funny. I kinda pity Kurogane sometimes.

I love Tsubasa, it's one of my favorite manga series now. You need to come and join the "Sakura and CLAMP fanclub" over in the anime section.

I'm not a huge CLAMP fan, but I have to admit this is one of my top manga favorites. I'm a die-hard Syaoran fan (though I like the other guys too) from my CCS days, so I was really happy to see even more of him. I just like the innocent, lighthearted (but appropriately serious at times) mood to it.

I'll have to read it, being the uber-CLAMP fan that I am.

The other night I saw the CCS episode where Li and Kero-chan's bodies get switched by the CHANGE card! Man, that was a HILARIOUS episode!

I have the first 3 volumes! Its great! One of CLAMP's darker works for sure but certainly not as dark as X (X scares me slightly) Its also got great humor. It has a cussing problem but nothing the magic of ink pens can't fix!

Out of curiosity, why would you say it's dark? I know there's the whole thing of Sakura's memory, but for the most part, it struck me as an optimistic and upbeat series at least so far. xXxholic, on the other hand, is something I would consider dark (X/1999 as well.)

I love Tsubasa. Not only is the story fascinating but, as a CLAMP fan, I enjoy seeing CLAMP's past creations placed in a multitude of different worlds and situations.

O well... out of CLAMPS works, I think X, parts of CCS, parts of Rayearth would be the darker ones.....

"Dark" was a bad description. My fault. What I mean is more mature in a sense. When Tsubasa is compared to things like Angelic Layer and CLAMP School Detectives it seems to be for an older audience. Sorry probably be confusing again (I do this to people a lot) but do you understand what I mean?

I understand what you mean. Though, having looked into some of the really dark stuff (xXxholic, X/1999, and even a little bit of Gohou Drug), I'd say Tsubasa looks like a sunny walk by the sea. Of course, I forgot to compare to things like Angleic Layer and CSD, so now I understand a little better how you could view it as "more mature." *nodnod*

Currently, there are at least 8 volumes out in Japan and it's still continuing.

Here is an interesting interview with CLAMP that I found regarding Tsubasa and XXXHolic.
