Cat Soup

Umm... What the heck is it? Is it any good? It looks wierd. I can't really tell what it's all about. Just wondering. I've seen it mentioned a couple other places, and seen ads for in in Newtype.

Word of advice: please, don't watch it.

There is something very VERY wrong with that show, and somehow I think that it kills more brain cells if you watch it :/

Here's the deal: a cat lays sick, but as Death comes to collect her soul, her little brother is able to snag half of it and keep her in the world of the living. The two then embark on a bizarre and wordless journey to retrieve the other half. The imagery is bizarre, imaginative, and sometimes beautiful, but there's really not much else. It's fun to look at and really short, so you'd hardly be wasting your time watching it, but as for wasting your money I'd say find something else.

Ok, thanks, everyone! I just wondered. I sounds... odd. But I'm not really surprised. It's not on the top of my list of things to buy. There's a ton of other DVD's I want a lot more. Maybe I'll check it out eventually, but I'm not in a hurry to see it. Thanks!

"I sounds..."? But anyway, one of the DVD's I think that you should get is Invader Zim. It's not anime, but it's really funny.

I said it sounds odd. ;)

I love Invader Zim, although it's not anime. It's too bad it got taken off. I hope they continue the series sometime, maybe on a different station. Heheh, one of my friends likes to be called "Gir." Don't ask me why. XD

I saw it at a con a little over a year ago. It's definitely a twisted anime - I have to agree with one of the critics that said, "It's like Hello Kitty on acid!" I suppose it could be stimulating if you like bizarreness - I often do - but there was something strangely disturbing about this one.. I'd even venture to say nightmare-inducing o_O I think it was partly because I expected cute and got creepy and grotesque instead. So, I'd say it's quite artistic, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with delicate sensibilities..

Obviously, this thread is old, but rather than create a new one...

I thought that this anime was both very funny, and highly disturbing. It had numerous questionable scenes but I enjoyed its dark humor. I would only recomend it if you like dak humor, and dont mind some very odd and semi disturbing images.

I like cat soup. Its better to cut the bitterness with some marjoram while its stewing, though.
