Yea. It is a pretty cool show. I can't decide if the Major is totally cool or somewhat scary ;) And the "uniform" is rather odd. I have yet to see volume three but I have seen volumes 1 and 2. Overall pretty cool.

Yes the opening rocks. I downloaded the full version and the tv version of the song :thumb:
A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone, bring me back to life
It all starts with a lullaby

I havnt got into the first Ghost in the Shell movie or Innocent however I love Stand alone Complex. That's a amazing series.

What is even more amazing in the opening of it (the CGI version) and the song "Inner Universe".

I like Motoko, she kicks seriouse butt as well as Saitou cause I love snipers in anime (i.e. Cain the Longshot in Trigun)

I dunno, I get bored watching it. Not because "ARGH NOT ENUF AKSHUN!", I just don't like it very much. I like cel animation better anyway.
For [adult swim] stuff, I like Bebop, ATHF, FMA is kinda cool, and FLCL.
I've not seen either of the films, but I hear they're a lot like The Matrix.

What's SAC? Oh, thanks for playing that clip, sister of mine. I wouldn't have know it was the same man who does the English dub for Alucard.

I have a question about this series: I'm never going to watch the movie because of the extreme amount of nudity in it, but how clean is the TV series concerning this?

Other than the protagonist's attire, I can say I have enjoyed what little I have seen of the series. By large it seems to be intelligent; I cannot comment as to the action involved. The setting is decent as well.

According to the information at Anime News Network Mary McGlynn also played
Lily and Sophia in the NA dub for Geneshaft and also goes by the name Melissa
Williamson. If Melissa Williamson is a familiar name then that's because she also
appears in Cowboy Bebop as the voice of Julia.

The background research I did ahead of time made me think I would despise this anime, but I'm actually liking it a lot. Except for the Major's uniform, I think it's pretty good even though I've only seen a few epsiodes. She doesn't wear that uniform only as well, in the episodes I've seen she was in a khaki military like uniform and it was absolutely not risque. I'm planning on using Motoko in a wallpaper when it get back to school (I need to find a picture of her in that black and grey outfit in the commercials).

I love Ghost in the Shell... Everything I have the original movie, the first two volumes of the show, (third for Christmas), and I would have Innocence but it comes out the 28th so pretty soon. I love the cybeer punk setting, the awesome character, gadgets, interesting cases and villain, and of course the music. Everything about this show just rocks my socks.

Ghost in the Shell:SAC is absolutely wonderful. Yes Majors clothing is lacking several parts, but the Major is a good character and her lack of clothing isn't as bad as the first movie. That is the only part I don't like.
I liked the intro and ending song so much I downloaded them on my computer.
The intro is as good as the series just all by itself.

I would just like to point out something here. There isa problem with the first episode on the third DVD. It's not like the others and deserves a much higher rating - say 16+ instead of the 13+ rating the series receives. I haven't seen it personally, but a good friend of mine recommends skipping that episode all together since it does not affect the rest of the series and it is so out of place.

Thst episode (actually disc 3 episode two of the disk, 10 of the series) is called Jungle Cruise and it is a very disturbing episode, and exists only to establish Batou's past. It is NOT out of place, but it did result in the whole disk being rated 16 and up. This has been previously mentioned in one of the links I posted above, or you can PM me for details.

The first episode on disc 3 (chat chat chat) has no objectionable content... except Motoko's bodysuit, as usual, and is very important to the central plot.

Everything I said above should hold true, unless your friend has a different set of DVDs than I have. (EG a non US non Bandai/Manga release).

I feel the need to comment on the most recent episode I saw (today is the 20th of Dec.). The epsiodess I had seen were not too bloody (very little), but this latest episode had some serious graphic violence and blood, in my eyes at least. I don't like gore, and if anyone else doesn't, I thought you might want to know. Does anyone know if that bloodiness is prevalent throughout the series?

Yeah I got the Third Volume for Christmas and watched Episode 10 last night. I have to say that it was very disturbing. That's the episode where an ex-Ranger is on the loose skinning people and Section 9 tracks him down. Not that an actual Ranger would ever do anything like that... Don't see how he could of been a Ranger and a Naval Petty Officer, oh well I'm just a real stickler on that kinda stuff.:eyeroll:

Anyway it was distrurbing in the sense that it wasn't extremely bloody or gory but it was more psychological. The only thing I can compare it to would be the movie Psycho. It lets your mind fill in the violent parts for you. Just be mindful when they show that episode on Adult Swim in the next month here or if you buy the DVD.
