I think that's why I'm enjoying Negima so much. After 8 volumes (Japanese), it's not clear that there is a clear cut chosen girl, and a few girls have interesting links to Negi.

Everyone likes to compare this to Love Hina, but personally I think that Akamatsu is going to throw people for a loop before too long.

Wouldn't it be ironic (if tacky) if he wound up with that Ayaka girl?

Well I finally Finished watching the entire anime series... I have to say I kinda wish I stopped after the Spring Vacation. I didn't really care for Love Hina Again, I thought it was going somewhere at some points but then it just turned out to be a disapointment.

So I have heard...I watched Love Hina Aagain episode 3 and I was fairly dissapointed.

Personally I liked the manga arc where we meet Motoko's older sister.

hee hee Tsuruko.....a very memorable character. I persoally think that the manga gains more intrest as it winds done. I got more inolved witht he series when [spoiler]Keitaro left for America and the entire thing between him and Naru. Than Kanako getting mad at Naru and that entire part exploding over. And as I said before, the ending (not the Epilogues) but the last chapter ending brought tears to my eyes "I love you Keitaro, forever and a day"[/spoiler]

I finally have seen the anime dubbed. One word......uuuuugggghhhhh.

The only "decent" voice acting is Dorothy Melendrez who plays as Naru and Jean Howard who voices as Mitsumi. The rest of the voice actors (they try) to sound like thier characters but fail.

Keitaro's voice actor tries to be too "geeky" and makes it almost unbearable by the excessive voice cracks and whiny. Keitaro is 19 but thi guy makes him sound like he's hitting puberty late. Shinobu's voice actor tried to sound innocent and quiet which Shinobu is but instead of that, the voice is bland and dull sounding lacking the sweetness of the Japanese VA. Motoko's was ok but got on my nerves...basically cause I love her VA in Japanese. Haruk'as voice just sounds.....bllllaaahhh. Lacks no emotion even for a character that lacks emotion...it lacks even that. I was surprised how bad Wendi Lee (Suu's voice actor and one of my personal faves) stunk it up. I'd expect her to be Kanako, Haruka, or Motoko's VA. She can't pull off the young, crazy, hyper girl. The best choice would be the girl who does Ed from Bebop's voice actor who actually plays Kanako in Love Hina Again. Seta's is bad as well. Now comes to my ultimate complaint....Kitsune. I hated....I absoultely hated Kitsun'es dubbed voice. I understand if her VA was trying to get a "accent to the Japanese region from where she is from" but she sounds to much like a Southern Bell.

This is one anime I will watch subbed.

I've watched both Love Hina series (Love Hina and Love Hina Again) and it does have a really good story and is very humerous, but it is most unfortunate that it has so much fan service. But the story is enjoyable if you can look past the fan service. What's especially strange about Love Hina for me is that so many of the characters have similarities with some of my friends.

So seeing as I loved Love Hina the anime series (didn't read the manga and probably won't any time soon). are there any other anime's that can be recommended to me?

Keep in mind that the only thing that normally will keep me from viewing an Anime is when there is a good guy hitting on a girl.... So violence against women. He a bad guy fine (gives me reason to hate him more). But I don't like the GOOD guy of the story hitting girls.

I could care less about fan service as long as it has a GOOD story.

yeah but hmmm I'm not sure if I'll see Ranma yet, I've been at a coin toss, because there is violence against women. Though I heard Ranma only hits women when he's in Female form and He did so Only once in male form because he's supossedly forced to.

But It's still I guess rather offensive to me.

Ranma is a fighting series though. Most of the fights are "matches" with consentiual opponents. So its not really violence against women.

Actually, I mentioned Ranma because he really dislikes fighting girls. On the few occassions where he has to he always holds back, or tries to win through some other means. For an example, if it is a ring match, he'll try to force them from the ring.

I guess I have to just give it a try anyways.. I'm really not sure I'll like it and I can't say overall I approve but just about everyone of my friends has told me to give it a try and saying that I have alot in common with Ranma and that i'm really gonna like his character.
But still it seems like... a stretch... but as did Love Hina before I watched it.


Unlike Love Hina I never actually said I wouldn't watch Ranma. But I did infact say I'd never ever watch Love Hina.

When I read or watch Love Hina, I tend to focus on the story and draw my attention away from the fan service.

This method (and trusting God) has helped me be distracted from the fan service and almost become blind to it in a way.

The love hina and chobits series are bouth good (at least as far as ive seen) but the main thing that atracted me to this titol in the first place was how much Kitaro is like well me and it made me laugh on how many times he got punched.

I liked it in some places. The only good "episode" that is better than the manga version was the Christmas special .I really enjoyed that movie but the dubed stinks.

As for the ending of the manga, I think it gets better at the end. It seemed to lag around volume 10 though but hey, it spans over 3 years so you have to have some lag time. But lik I said, i think the manga gets better near the end (maybe im being biased since I thought the entire [spoiler]...forever and a day ending as well as the wedding [/spoiler] was awesome.)

Actually, I'd agree there. Just that volume 13 and everything in 14 up to that point I didn't like.

I think it would have been better if the things mentioned in your spoiler happened after the roadtrip in #12. The other stuff just felt anti-climactic.

Yeah it did. Kinda got old with Naru cosnatntly denying her love though we were treated by a awesome conclusion on chapter 12 ( i think it was that).

heh heh heh I got vol 14 before I got the earlier volumes since I love that one. However, my favorite volume woul have to be 9 cause I love how Ken did some of the girls faces.

Oh...by the way, animeheretic, I saw you post a video game called "Negima' and I did a search and a manga was released by that name by Ken Akamatsu. I love his art and i was wondering if that's any good.
