Has anyone seen the episodes or read the manga? I have seen all the eps that were available. I was a little confused by the "cult" guy. Poke at Christianity??? Mormonism??? The all wore Mormon type garb......

I acutally bought the dvd not long ago. Though to be honest, I've only seen the first episode. I been meaning to watch the rest but w/ all my finals and other stuff going on I just haven't had the time. Though by the looks of episode one, it's going to be a good series. Though, this weekend I plan on watching more of it (hopefully). So if by then no one anwsers your question perhaps I will be able to help. Sorry.

I don't remember that guy. It's been years since I've wathed it - I just wanted to ring in and say the cosplay episode is worth the purchase of the DVD.

I have this one. Personally, I felt the last two episodes were the best and well worth the purchase of the one volume DVD.

I just finished watching 1/2 the series (3eps). It's great! Hilarious. You can tell the series is an older one, but I can careless. It's an all-around good series. I'm quite surprised about the Dvd distribution. They put all 6 episodes on 2 dvd's and sold them together. THat's always a plus. So spending $20-30 for the whole series, not bad. I wish more companies would put more episodes on a dvd. Plus, I'll rather buy a whole series that comes out on 1-3 dvd's than on one that requires 5-8dvds. Saves a lot of money.

Okay after watching the first 3 episodes I'm probably just as confused as you are. "Cult?" So far, not sure, they may either be poking fun at christianity but then again, it seems like all of the members are brain dead. The main guys eyes are always wide open but seem tired at the same time. Like someone drinking a million coffees to stay awake.

I remember in the first episode the main religious dude saying, "I heard people say that your mind is troubled, come to our room, the power of God will help you."

That was just really random and quite funny. But as of now, it don't believe they are mormon... It's either they poking fun at christianity or actually religion in general, or perhaps he's in a cult. Though, honestly I'm leaning towards cult. I say this because of the guys facial expressions and tone of voice he has throughout the episodes. I"ve heard stories about large cult groups on college campuses. But it's turning out to be a really interesting series. Funny, random (to a point) and all on 2 dvds. My type of series :). It is a bit old, but the story/plot is quite entertaining.

Edit:
Here are some screen captures I've done. What are y'alls opinion, cult or a poke at christianity, mormonism etc...? Again, I think it's just a poke at the many cults.
