Boony (can I call ya boony?) love the ritialin billboard, that's priceless. There's not a whole lot for me to add except that I've seen about 7 episodes of Last Exile (on Comcast's On Demand service that somebody mentioned earlier) and I absolutely love it. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite animes of all time.

As far as content goes, I can't really say for certain (as TechTV edits their anime), but I don't think that too much language or gore would fit this anime. And it has nothing so far concerning sexually suggestive content, and no fan-service type of elements. This anime is better for it, and honestly, I don't think language or violence really fits the feel of this anime, as Al, Claus, and Lavie all seem like quite innocent and lovable characters.

When I first saw this anime, it really reminded me of "Skies of Arcadia" for the Dreamcast. Maybe it was the prevalence of airships. Maybe it was because Claus and Lavie reminded me of Vyse and Aika, who knows, but I really happen to like the worlds of SOA and Last Exile (there really not that similar) as the have a unique feel that just makes you want to know more about them.

Well kids, watch this anime. Do what you have to (within the law of course) to watch this anime - you won't regret it.

By the way, somebody said TechTV has the rights to 13 episodes of Last Exile, does anyone know if there are more than 13 episodes to this series (please say yes)?

I believe there are 26 episodes in total, but I'm not completely sure.

There are twenty six episodes from what I understand.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

26 episodes, gore is kept to blood, no flying bodyparts. There is a bath scene with the Guild Leader in the latter episodes, but they keep everything covered... barely.

I have to say it's best seen in Japanese with English Subtitles... The voices carry better emotion (and are less cheesy) Cowboy Bebop was my favorite, but this show put it down to number 2.

Awww, now, no competition guys, they're both great shows. And they're so different. I prefer the subtitled version of the show (LE) myself, but getting my family to watch subbed is a trial.

Hehe, I can imagine. It's hard enough to get them all to sit down for a Studio Ghibli movie. And those are dubbed pretty well XD

I saw a few dubbed eps on Tech TV and I've seen all of the eps in Japanese (episode 26 still leaves me bewildered...) ...I thought the dub was okay, but deeo's voice took a little getting used too. I would definately recommend the sub

Ritalin Billboard picture

Please forgive me for not posting on the topic of this thread, but I find the picture of the ritalin bill board to be somewhat offensive.

Things like this have become more funny is because Attention Deficit Disorder has been blamed when it really isn't the problem and most of us know it.

I was parented well, and I could not concentrate to do the things that I wanted to do. Ritalin helped me.

What is the general pacing of the show? I haven't found anywhere to rent this series from yet but I liked to know so I can be mentally ready when I find it.

A friend of mine had just recommended this series to me a couple weeks ago. I thought I'd come here and check it out. Looks and sounds good, so I will probably check out the DVD's... After Christmas.

Last Exile totally rocks!!!
I love this show. I have seen every epiosode through volume 6. I like it because of its great animation and story. It is also clean(save a little langauge and violence), which is a definate plus. I can't wait for volume 7.

I even played this one at work. (I work video). I haven't gotten brave enough to play it again.

YEsterday they aired the ep. where Luccialo sacrifices himself in order to
save Deel,Claus and Al.
Deaths so far:Mullan,Luccialo and possibly Alex at least Alex looks to be
a goner the way Delphine has been torturing him.
This is way better than the new Star Wars. :thumb:
