I like the gal in FF1 who keeps saying: "I have such beautiful legs! It's so nice to have legs." ^_~

Hmm...fav char...I would have to pick one for each of the ones I have played...seems fair.
FF Tactics-Delita...he was a cool char...
FF7- Aeris (did what she did...and was an awesome char)
FF8-Irvine(a wuss somtimes, but still a cool unique char)
FF9-Amarant(dude had huge red dread locks...need I say more?)
FFX-tie between Yuna and Tidus...both presented amazing storys...both were awesome chars IMO. Now out of all the FF's...too pick just one char? Hmm...Aeris...to do what she did...even while in love with a char...to step back....she gets my vote.

What a choice. How to pick? Playable chracter or NPC? hmm.
my favorite is ff7, while ff3 (us) was also great 7 offered tons. it was new, it was great, it had a arcade with the "sub game" and rasing your chocobo (Gold)... insane summons (KotR, //made it too easy.) =(
anyway.... maybe... Cloud... average, issues, one-of-a-kind, Omni-slash. ;)
Bad guy- Sephiroth, Rufus or Kefka
punks- the Turks, Ultros
and the true star of Final Fantasy... Cactuar. :)

Cid from FF7? Yecchhh. I hated that character, and I REALLY hated the game's focus on often forcing him or Barret (my other severe dislike in FF7) into your party for long stretches of time. ^sigh^

Kefka...oh man, that guy is annoying (especially his laugh). Actually I was kinda surprised that no one but Saint mentioned Kefka, he is probably one of the best (if not the best) villians created for any FF.

he wasn't my favorite charicter, but he was my favorite villian. Kefka was everything cool about a real villian, pure evil for no real reason except evil is fun. Sure he was anoying at first with, I GOT SAND ON MY BOOTS!!! and makeing the soldiers clean it off,but he turned out ok, and his laugh..... that was great.
he was like evil hideing in something you wouldn't expect. He hid his true power and schemes behind the face of a incompetend clownish persona. but then you find out what he's really like. thats just an awsome turn of events. definatly the best FF villian ever (in my opinion anyway)

Okay. At least you have reasons. Personally, he drove me nuts, and I don't really like psycho clowns.

Did you play the censored version? In the original, there was some cussing. Some, and at reasonable times. Until Cefca arrives... he outcusses the entire game up to that point in his first text buffer. Then (just before the World of Chaos) he outcusses everyone else in the game in one text buffer.

Psycho cussing clowns...

Well, you must admit, he was one of the more unusual Final Fantasy villians.

Are you talking about the rom hack? Because that was a load of crap...

While Ted Woolsey (or is it Woosley?? something like that) made a crappy translation, the supposed "fixing" of it, I don't even think the person who made it knew Japanese. They just saw the word "witch" and thought "I think I need to change this, they couldn't have really meant 'witch' even though she has magic powers and is feared by all the people... No, they must have meant something else... Stupid censors" (the same thing occured in DBZ... Fansubbers who really didn't know Japanese just took eps and put in what they thought they should be saying based on what they said in the Dubs, the result being laced with "F" words and rediculous Americanisms)

The retranslation of the American FF3 was a lowbrow and inept attempt at copying the success of the FF4 Hardtype translation, which was a decent translation and accurate to the original story.

Of course, i'm making an assumption (unless Kefka uses the "f" word, because there is no equivalent to that in Japanese, therefore any use of that word in an anime or game translation is mere "spicing up" by the translators) and there may be a real legitamate translation out there that contains "cussing" particularly in the use of the Japanese word "Kuso" which has about the same use as our word "sh**" though probably not as taboo. What I don't like is things like "Nani" or variations on that meaning what getting translated as "What the He**" I suppose from the point of view of a translator, that seems the best way to translate that, but it gets frustrating when I show it to friends or, forbid it, Family.

Anyhow... Where did you get the "uncensored" translation?

Initially, I wasn't sure where exactly the rom came from... so I did a bit of checking. Actually, it wasn't a rom hack, it was a rom of the original FF6. It was never really broadcast as uncensored, and there really wasn't anything all that bad. Just cussing. Certainly, Ted wasn't the one doing it.

And the buffer of cussing was "kuso" repeated.

VIVI????

I dont know much about region differences, but in Australia the coolest character (and my fave ever) is LuLU, who casts black magic and has a very high cool factor.

Plus she can attack with cactuar. Lol, its got all the trappings of a perfect character.

I'm relatively certain he means Lulu. That's what it was in the American version, and she's the only character who begins with Black Magic.

Actually, it was probably a numerical typo.
Vivi was the black mage in Final Fantasy IX.

I really should have known that, but ah well. So that's why the name sounded familiar (you see, I've played nothing of the beginning of FFIX).

lol, thanks for cleanring that up guys. Is it just me or did FFIX fade into the realms of Final Fantasy Obscurity, I have heard nothing, and I do repeat NOTHING about it at all. I remember seeing the character on front of a magazine once, and thats it. And now I know who ViVi is.

Yay

It's not that obscure. A lot of people liked it including myself.

It ranks as the most hilarious Final Fantasy. The scenes with Adelbert Steiner and Quina Quen in them were really funny. It was also the last Final Fantasy to be worked on by artist Yoshitaka Amano.

True. But the title is "Favorite Final Fantasy Charicter (sic)" not "Cool Final Fantasy Characters." If everything is your favorite, none of them are. I think the point is to be forced to focus. Not that you have to listen to the point at all, it isn't like it really matters.
