I'm Not Exactly New, but....

Postby Aka-chan » Sat Nov 27, 2004 12:09 pm

Well, I figured that since I reached 1111 posts and never even did a Welcome Area thread, I ought to introduce myself. Sort of. Not like anyone reads these things anyways.

Gender: Female, though not nearly as pretty as most male J-rockers. Life is not fair.
Age: I’m your average grade-schooler-at-heart who will stop and do Moonchild reenactments in random hallways for friends or reinterpret manga scenes as I prefer to perceive them.
Height: Shorter than some, taller than some
Hair: In a ponytail
Eyes: Glazed over
Favorite foods: I could live off ramen and milk if you let me, though I consider chocolate a necessity to life as well—especially when combined with Pocky. I do not, however, like seafood. Not even sushi.
Hobbies: Talking, typing, writing, drawing, impersonating J-rockers and anime characters, cosplaying, trying to write songs in Japanese, translating songs and manga, informal roleplaying, pestering people, memorizing things, studying the Bible, invading Goof Off threads, and lots of other stuff. Oh, yeah, I guess I draw a little on the side. ^_~
Favorite anime/manga: Tsubasa, Shaman King, Fruits Basket, Yakitate!! Japan, Naruto, One Piece, Groove Adventure Rave, Steelblood, Psychoteers, Kingdom Come, Girl Got Game, etc.
Favorite movies: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (not the dub), The Incredibles, Endless Waltz, various home videos made by friends
Favorite songs: “Ashita, Genki ni Naareâ€

Even though you've posted way more than me welcome to CAA. You've already posted lots, but don't let that stop you from posting even more. :)

If you won the jackpot in the lottery what would you do? That's pretty much the only questioni can think of right now.
Absence is to love as wind is to a flame. It extinguishes the little, it ignites the great.

Life is a test. It is only a test. Had this been real life you would have have been instructed where to go and what to do.

When i argue with reality I lose.....But only 100% of the time.

Once you've decided on a course of action, only you can finish it. As long as you remember that, there's nothing you can't accomplish.

Sankyuu for the welcome. XD

Hm...the lottery? I'd tithe first, pay for my education, maybe help pay for my siblings' education a little (how big is this jackpot?), and do a whole lotta crazy cosplay. :3

That's a funny age. ;)

Nice to meet you, er, re-meet you. That was a very informative thread. Thanks for posting it.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.
