A Berserk's scene

Postby Noheajack » Thu Nov 18, 2004 5:24 pm

Hi, sorry that I didn't write for a lot of time but I work a lot in this period.
So, I have to ask something about a scene from Berserk anime.
I remember that there are rules about some anime/manga that is forbidden to talk about, but I didn't find these rules, so I don't know if is ok if I talk about Berserk or if is not possible to talk about this manga. In the second case I'm sorry about it, and next time I'll write something about another manga.

Berserk is not on the "Do Not Discuss" list. What is your question?

thank you!
So my question is about a scene
In episode 9 the count Yulius is killed by Gatsu, beacause Griphis had commissioned him to do it. Suddenly someone open the door, and Gatsu think that was a soldier, so he killed this person. But surprised and then shocked, he realized that he killed a boy, Adonis, the son of Yulius. Gatsu was terribly frightfully cause he consider himself as a monster, witch killed a defenceless and innocent young boy. When I saw this scene, in my mind, I think, oh my God! Is the writer of this manga crazy? People must watch this terrible scene? So I've discuss in a forum of my friend about berserk, about this scene, and some people agree with me, but lots of people sad:<< Yes, is correct! The violence is big in this manga and so this scene is allright and is one of the best in manga. >> I was frightened to hear this, cause there are lots of people who like to see violence. Although I know that Gatsu was unconscious of his action, I was completly shocked by this action.
What you think about it?

I wasn't the biggest fan of this anime. At times it could be so heartless. I would agree with your take on that scene, but the finale was far worse. I think Griffith is possibly the most evil character I have ever seen.

Yes, I didn't see all the episodes but Griphit is a big traitor, maybe worst than an evi guy, because with an evil person you know that his evil and so hereupon you know wich will be his action. But Griphit firstly was a friend and look like a good captain and a quite good guy, but in the end he betray to their friends(in Dante's hell betray to friend is one of the worst sins). He's disguasting.

Today I've read the first number of the manga. The plot is quite difference from the anime, and is incredibly more and more violence than the anime! Bah.... There is a lot of violence in the world, when I read a story I want to see something else...

Hello, i am new to this forum but i am also a huge fan of berserk and was curious what some of you thought of it. I think that this scene is not a "great" scene for the anime, but it is a very defining scene. The author has shown the lengths that gutts will go for griffin. I personally love this series. the reason is the same rteason i loe the LOTR, the characters are phenomonal and the author stays true. The characters are not sacrificed for the story and they grow, have flaws, and i just love the way griffith and gutts interact. I love the fact that griffith feels betrayed by gutts becasue gutts does not define friendship the same way griffith does. Also, if you can stomach a bit more than this series offers, i would hgighly suggest the manga. I will upfront and say i would not suggest it for anyone under 21. It has a LOT of blood and a few scenes of nudity, aand outright demons and puts them inside the vatican even, but the writing is awesome, the characters are human, not heros and i personally love it. plus giffith becomes even more eveil as femto. LAStly, the manga is a differnet storyline up til vol 3 and then in the anime w/ extra til vol 12 and right now it is on vol 27. personally i have only read up to 21 and I can't wait to see what happens next. again, this is a very violent anime/manga and if that is a problem, steer clear. However, the story is awesome.

I agree, the story could be awesome, but the manga is too much violent for my opinion.
I prefer the anime(is has also a lot of violence, but less then the manga).
