Howdy! Welcome to the fair land of CAA.

So, What anime/mangas do you like? And who is the friend who told you about the site (in other words, is he or she a member)?

I'm Mangafanatic (a.k.a Osaka), I'm pleased to meet you. Enjoy your stay!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

As is probably evident from my avatar, I'm a fan of FLCL. I also like cowboy bebop, kenshin, naruto, ghost in the shell (in all its forms), touch, kare kano to name a few. My friend actually doesn't come here, she basically just said "hey, you're christian, and you like anime, you should like this site!" :)

How many of those are the manga and how many are the anime? (If I'm not mistaken, all the littles you mentioned have both. That's funny. . .)

Hi and welcome, John316! ^____^

YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I try to read the manga If I can get it. Usually it's the anime first though.

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close

Umm... wait a minute, shouldn't this be a separate thread?

Regardless, welcome to CAA!

You find that you have a weapon, an instrument that
will give you power over the wind and sea.
In one word, you can stop time. It is a weapon
so powerful that even God will bow
down to you and all his angels fall at your feet.
What would you do with it?

A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone, bring me back to life
It all starts with a lullaby

I've seen some. Just a few things here and there. My sister likes the movie "Castle in the Clouds" (or something like that) so I see that once a month or so. I don't have alot of time for movies etc, what with school and work and all. :-/

Annonymous, go to the Who's Who form and you will find Kenshin17's thread there.

Don't worry, you didn't do anything worry or anything. I put my Hi thread thread there too and some of the Welcome party people some times don't check the the Who's Who thread that much. I somewhat do that and not look in the who's who thread alot of times.
