I know there is a Norwegian and a Swede here. I'm 1/8 Finnish by blood, but that's it.

Um...

I know that two of the tracks on the Final Fantasy N Generation CD are sung in Saami, which is I guess a dialect of finnish.

But I think I'm mostly German...my last name is German, at least.

Love is that feeling you get when a girl looks at you and it feels like your driving a car at high speeds and experience a sudden drop. You know what i mean? That sudden sinking feeling you get in your stomach? Yeah, that's love. Leave's you speechless everytime.

I'm 1/8 Swedish and some small part as well of Danish. Ok, maybe that doesn't belong here. Long live Finland. (My great grandmother came from there.)

Hello = Hei

How are you? = Mitä kuuluu?

God bless you = Siunausta (but more literally "Jumala siunatkoon sinua")

Finnish is a really, really difficult language.. I'm always wondering how can people be able to speak it.

My maternal grandfather's maternal grandparents were both born in
Prussia.At least Prussia is the country of birth on the 1880 census.

Unless of course your my friend Jared and say..."Buongiorno, Principessa!" No he's not Italian... just loves to qoute the movie Life is Beautiful. He says it reminds him of me.... ^.^

Cool Finnish!!! Never thought I'd meet a Finnish person.... well I've kinda met a Finnish person.... So Nifty!!!

Yep - a kiwi is a flightless, brown bird that eats worms etc. and has it's nostrils on the end of it's beak and kiwifruit are brown furry fruit (only furry on the outside) that are green on the inside. Similar to chinese gooseberries, I've been told. Unfortunately, I don't like them very much :grin: . However, there's another variety of the fruit called 'Zespri' or something, I think - they're kiwifruit, except without the hair, they're golden inside and don't have the same slight aftertaste. Ha - that's enough about NZ - this is a Finnish thread!

Wooo - that's awesome. Now I know how to write 'God Bless' to people in Finnish.... :grin: .

Siunausta! - and thank you for sharing some finnish words. Would I be able to ask how to say 'thank you' in Finnish?
