The Biography of A Bounty Hunter

Postby SpikeSpiegel306 » Sun Oct 10, 2004 4:57 pm

Ah, excellent. A place for a biography....
Greetings All!
I am a missionary kid to Japan who recently returned to America. My name is Spike Spiegel. Yes, it is the turth. I am the son of a Spiegel and proud of it. I was born approximately 17 years ago and when I was 5 weeks old my parents and I took a long and arduous flight to Tokyo, Japan where my father teaches at the University. My parents bought an apartment there and later a home on Okinawa Island and a home in Kyoto as well. My very American name Spike Spiegel was changed to the very Japanese name Kenji Saijoto. I became a Christian when I was 4 and was baptized when I was 7. I have live in Japan pretty much all my life except for routine furloughs back to the United States. I am interested in Martial Arts (thus the name Kenji was chosen for me), and they have been a part of my daily life for about 12 years I guess. I plan to attend Tokyo University someday and major in Aeronautical, Mechanical, and Variable Engineering. When I grow up I hope to be exactly like the Spike Spiegel that we all know and love. Hopefully by then we will have expanded our horizons far enough into the stars so that this will be possible.

As for my current situation in life...I fear that I will not be able to return to Japan for at least 2 maybe even 3 years. This means that I will be entering Tokyo University as a one or two year Ronin. I manage to keep myself busy with Martial Arts Tournaments and Anime/Manga Drawing Contests.
I currently have no object of affection in life, but if I could describe the perfect woman in my eyes...A Christian Naru Narusegawa.

That is all the info I could think to put on here but feel free to fire away with any question no matter how random. Oh and please, please do not type tp me in Romanjo because sometimes it is extremely difficult to read it.

So, wait a minute. Are you Japanese by ethnicity as well? How come your name was changed?

Cool that it really was (is?) Spike Spiegel! ^_^

I am not Japanese by ethnicity, and my name is still Spike Spiegel. In Japan it is hard to pronounce the last name Spiegel so they changed it to Saijoto, and Kenji is merely a nickname.

That's awesome. I've always been interested in martial arts, but have never gotten to actually learn it. Anyway, enjoy your time here!

Well now, that's definitely interesting. Great to know a little bit more about the person that is Spike Spiegel/Kenji Saijoto. A quick question, which would you prefer to be called?

I don't see the Bebop Spike as an engineer, but I wish you the best of luck, anyway. I'm sure you'll make a fine bounty hunter. It's good to have you here, I'm sure you'll bring an interesting twist to our discussions of Japan.

Well, as you guessed, Cowboy Bebop is definitely my favorite anime. I hope to be able to buy the rights to it and finish the series as the original producer planned, I would also like to try to make some live action movies of Bebop. I also like Trigun, Outlaw Star, Gundam Wing, Ruroni Kenshin (but I am more partial towards the Samurai X Trilogy), Inuyasha, and I'm sure there are more that I just cant think of. O, and I am currently reading the Love Hina Manga Series.

well, I'm not big on CB, I only really like Ed and Ein, but that's all cool anyway! It''s not every day that you meet someone with the exact name from a dude, or dudette, from an anime.

what's your favorite Japanese and American food?

I think I've only had Chinese and not Japanese food.

I am a huge fan of sushi, but that is not really considered an everyday food, so I guess my favorite Japanese food would be Orange Chicken, American food...well i dont really know what an American food is...Bar-B-Que I guess considering I live in Texas and all, but my favorite food of all time is probably a Nigerian dish called Suya (My parents grew up in Nigeria). Its basically strips beef, chicken, or any other animal grilled like shish-kabob with olive oil. Extremely spicy and extremely good!

lol, I don't really know what is considered "American" food, but I go with whatever is served in America.
Unfortunately, I can't handle spicy food. bummer.
My favorites are chicken and pasta.

American food is so diverse, the North and the South have their own different specialties and then each state has something special too. I love it! No matter where you go you can always find something new to eat! ...I think I think about food too much.

hahaha!

I recently tried to eat my dad's recipe for "devilled" eggs. That is where you take the egg yolk and mix different stuff in it, like mayonnaise, mustard etc. then you stick it in the halved boiled egg. I don't really like that because I don't like mayonnaise or mustard. Yikes, I'm rambling.

You guys are making me hungry just talking about all this good food. So, you're American, but your parents grew up in Nigeria, and you lived in Japan for a long time? That's vaguely confusing. I'd love to have lived in three countries!

Wait a minute... ninjutsu? If I recall correctly, you said something about martial arts. Am I missing something?

Ninjutsu is a martial art, albeit a mostly dead one. Jutsu really just means a fighting style intended for killing, so it is essentially the style of nin: nin-jutsu. It doesn't imply anything supernatural (ie Naruto).
