I have practiced a number of martial arts in my life so far. I'm a 5th degree black belt in Okinawan Karate and Tae Kwon Do, I also take judo and jujitsu. I'm starting in ninjitsu and muay thai kickboxing. I have almost mastered wu-shu, kung-fu, tai-chi, and northern Shaolin. Once I turn 21 I want to try a drunken martial art.

I used to do tae-kwon-do when I was in first grade and was a yellow belt, untill the academy moved or closed or something, and I never really started up again. I'm currently in my first and a half year of kendo at Omaha Kendo Kai with Sasaki Sensei, and am interested in taking kenjitsu, am I spelling that right? I've been very interested in taking ninjitsu, but I live in nebraska and the only school I've found is at Washington College.

To tell you the truth I'm interested in Jujitsu, Kobujitsu (i think thats how you spell it), Hapkido, and a bunch of others.

On saturday I'm testing for green belt in tae-kwon-do and Hapkido. I'm also the rank of Jiho in shinkendo. I've done a bit of arnis in the past as well.

I've got a question; Teng Soo Do or Wado Ryu? I'm having a hard time choosing one of them... My cousin and brother are in Teng Soo Do right now and my aunt teaches at the same place. But, a few of my friends are in Wado Ryu. Also; Which one incorporates weapons more?

I took karate when I was little, but after some humiliating experience I stopped.

I did a little arnis, which was fun.

But I have no athletic skills whatsoever in martial arts or for any type of sport lol

I trained for a few years in Chung Di Kwan Tae Kwon Do, but I haven't gone in a long time because it was an informal class and there wasn't a set schedule.

I'd really like to learn Iaijutsu, Aikido, or perhaps the ninja arts if they're real and they still exist. But alas, I can't find the time to do so, nor the instructors.

My fiance will be testing for his Black Belt in Shaolin Kenpo Karate in June. (Yay lovie!)

I have not taken any formal Martial Arts Training. I've always enjoyed watching many different martial arts movies, though! I know that it will be something to get interested in when I move to New Hampshire to be with said fiance. Eventually, my hunnie and I want to open our own Dojo and teach Martial Arts (whatever forms and weapons we learn) to others.

And I totally agree: Martial Arts is for both self improvement and combat. (Hopefully, the former and not the latter unless in a controlled sparring environment.)

I take American Kenpo Karate. My sensei is a Christian and his whole program is Christian. I currently have my yellow belt, and am working towards getting my orange. I might quit after that, but I'm gonna have to think/pray about that decision. All my friends and family are taking it too, so if I quit, I might miss out on a lot.

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you

Do you ever wanna run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like to be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life :sniffle:

Aiyah! Kyu-jutsu is hardcore! But I'm positive you could handle it if you really want to learn bad enough.

Wow, this is exciting! I did not realize so many people in America took any kind of martial arts! Anyone take weapons fighting? I love talking with people about weapons techniques and hand-to-hand combat techniques as well.

They don't actually have Shinkendo matches because we use real swords (hence "Shinken"). It's not really made for sport, but for learning the art of actually cutting. We do learn a lot about combat, but it's not an extemely practical martial art.

I neglected to mention that I have also taken a bit of arnis. I wasn't officially in the class, but it was right before Shinkendo and the instructor let me kind of "sit in" on the class. It was almost like auditing a course in college, you don't get graded, but you can still learn a lot.
