Well I don't consider Sesshoumaru a villian, but he is my favorite character in Inuyasha! ^^
I have two categories of favorite villians. First there's the villian that's just cool to watch even though they're evil. And theeen there's the villian that is done so well you just HATE them.
For the first category I'd have to go with Legato (the one in the manga. I don't like him so much in the anime for some reason), Saitou of RK, Akito, Homura (Saiyuki), Krad (DNAngel), and Noin (KKJ) ect. I'm sure I have more I just can't think of them right now. A bunch I agree with have been mentioned too.
As for the villian I love to hate... I'd have to go with Aion from Chrno Crusade. I mean, how can you not hate a demon (akuma (sp?) not youkai) who says it's God's fault that we're suffering.
[spoiler="click here"]He's trying to create another resolution to the Apocolypse or something. The anime was so confusing and I've heard it goes away from the manga, which is 100X better. I'll have to read it as it comes out[/spoiler]
He's also a pervert, manipulating, EVIL, sacrifices people for his needs, ect. I found myself wanting to smash my computer at certain times. Whether it was intended or not, his character was done so evilly I actually (well this is to strong a word, but still) hated him. It was mostly his religious accusations that drove me over the edge, but he's definately one of those characters to really dislike to the point of enjoying it cause it's so well done. Weird sorta thing. Hate the character, love the way its done.
