DNAngel release date (finally!)

Postby Mangafanatic » Sun Sep 19, 2004 8:55 pm

Well, a long time after it's original licensing, ADV has FINALLY announced a release date for the first volume of the DNAngel anime. *drum roll please*

November 9th!!! WOO HOO!!

(source: Anime news network http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=5487)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

well I will be buying it! I was just asking somewhere if this was going to be an anime and now I know. November isn't that far from now, well compared to samurai champloo anyway, that one won't be out till around january.

i've heard that comparing the manga and the anime is like comparing black to white. That they're very different. Anyone who knows both, is this true?

Yes, the anime and the manga are VERY different. I believe the manga has a more tangible plot, and in the anime Dark and Krad depend more on magic than they do in the manga. Those are the first two differences that come to my mind, but I could go on forever. =P I enjoyed both, though. Can't wait to FINALLY get the first dvd *shakes fist at ADV* How dare you deprive me of Krad!

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close[/color]

The manga is awesome. It's one of my favorites. Cept I went to Waldens the other day to buy the third one cuz I finally had money, and it was gone. :waah!: *huggles Dark* I didn't get to see the cuteness.
