Kenshin vs. Vash

Postby Falco53 » Fri Sep 10, 2004 7:24 pm

I've been wanting to make this topic for a while, and what better place to make it than an anime forum? This is a topic as to who would win in a fight, I'm sure you figured that out already.

Vash
Image
Ah, the Humanoid Typhoon. He is extremely intelligent. His gunmanship knows no peer. He seems to possess some kinds of mind powers: Telepathy, some mind control, maybe even Telekinesis. He also possesses incredible speed and hand-to-hand combat.

Kenshin
Image
The legendary Hitokiri Battousai. His abilities? Crazy awesome speed and swordsmanship.

Let the argument-- ahem, discussion-- commence.
Yeah, I'm that opinionated.

I'm kind of leaning towards one guy over the other. But I want to hear what some other people have to say before I post my opinion.

As much as I love them both so much, I honestly have to say that I think Vash would win in a fight. Especially with his angel arm.
That's my opinion, although I doubt either of them would ever fight each other 'cause of their beliefs and stuff. Ack, but that's neither here nor there.
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

In a fight? Nah, they'd agree to settle their differences with a pie-eating contest or something. Then Kenshin would get Vash to cook dinner.

Stop clouding the matter with facts. I want an honest debate! (yeah right)

At first I was leaning towards Kenshin, but I had forgot about the Angel Arm. If Vash got the chance to use it, I doubt he'd actually hit Kenshin, but Kenshin would still get hurt.

Right now, assuming Vash can't take control of Kenshin's mind, I'm still giving it to Kenshin. Kenshin is fast, and it would only take one hit for Kenshin to take out Vash.

Then again, Vash is pretty darn awesome...

Vash all the way. He's been up against swords before, but Kenshin (correct me if I'm wrong @_@) has never seen a gun, before. Vash is also better at long range. Besides all that, I just think Vash is too tricky and "pretty darn awesome" (^_^). He finds a way for everything.

And don't forget, Vash's Angel Arms wouldn't harm Kenshin. Vash's destroys objects, it's Knives' Angel Arms that kills people.

I think they would just decide that fighting is pointless and go goof off. At which point Kaoru and Meryl would grab their respective guys and chew them out for shirking some responsibility.

Yes, Kenshin has fought gun-wielding adversaries before: One with dual revolvers and one with a gatling gun.

Kenshin vs Vash...

Anybody remember Indiana Jones' big sword fight with the guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark? No, 'cause Indy had a gun.

That was over fast.

(Oh, and I think Vash' big, new gun would back a LOT more punch than anything the guys in Kenshin's day would)

Kaligraphic is right, though. Realisticaly, they would wind up sitting around eating and laughing.

Kenshin sees a gun in one of the ealier eps, there he has to fight the Oniwaban group. The main guy stock pilies guns and killed ever member but Shinamori.
----------------------
But it's hard to say who would win, Kenshin has the quick samurai speed and vash has the gun.... But they're both good guys.... It's to hard to say...

Well, there is no clear-cut answer.

Kenshin has definitely seen many guns, and I think he's deflected bullets before. If he hasn't, I'm positive that less skilled swordsmen (members of the Shinko style) have deflected bullets.

Another factor is that Kenshin's "god-like" speed far surpasses Vash's "pretty good" speed.

Going either way, I think the match wouldn't last long. Either Vash would shoot Kenshin and Kenshin would lose, or Kenshin would be too fast and get in close where Vash would have no chance.

One other thing that Kenshin has going for him is that he doesn't have to hold back: Vash does. Kenshin can fight as hard as he wants and he still won't kill someone because of his reverse-blade sword. (I don't recall the Japanese name for it.). Vash has to make sure that when he shoots, the bullet will go in the right place. I guess Vash could use some reverse-blade bullets or something.

I don't think that the swordsmen that Vash faced have much relevance-- Kenshin would mop the floor with them. I think the reverse is also true, Kenshin never faced any gunman with skill even close to Vash's.

Wolfwood even shot Vash point-blank in the face with them. IT was hilarious.)

As for the swordsman Vash fought (Raidei the Blade), he was a lightweight compared to Kenshin.

Conversely, Kenshin beat a man who had a gatling gun. Neither Vash's revolver nor his arm-mounted submachinegun can match a gatling's power. If Kenshin could beat a gatling with his speed and agility, a revolver and SMG are no trouble.

But, all things considered, I stand by my version of the outcome. ^_^

Vash's hidden gun almost assuredly has more power, and definitely has more speed than a hand cranked 1860's gatling gun.

I'd realisticly call it a draw. The two of them are practically the same person.

One other thing that Kenshin has going for him is that he doesn't have to hold back: Vash does. Kenshin can fight as hard as he wants and he still won't kill someone because of his reverse-blade sword. (I don't recall the Japanese name for it.). Vash has used rubber tipped bullets to avoid killing before. Additionally, I think Vash may have powers that he has kept hidden, because he is Knives' brother and we have seen him do incredible things with his power.

vash would just beat kenshin by so much.he could use his angel arm and destroy kenshin's sword and then shoot like 12 shoots at kenshin.but hey kenshin has speed and other things.

It would be a tie. They both have super speed. They both have devastating attacks. And niether one will kill the other.

When did Vash use rubber-tipped bullets? Now I feel stupid...

I posted about Vash's theoretical mind powers in my first post. You are the first person to say anything about it. We really haven't seen Knives do all that much with his powers though. Look at Legato, he's a good example of what Vash could do.

Vash used rubber bullets in episode 11 "Escape from Pain."

As for Knives' powers...
after Wolfwood dies and his mentor tries to kill Legato, Knives sucks him into some kind of void and he disappears, presumably dead.
If Vash could do something like that the fight wouldn't last very long. Even if he could, I doubt he would though.

I think Vash. He has the guns the experience (age) and has livedd through a heck of alot of stuff! He may be clumsy but he knows what hes doing.

Heh Interesting question.
But what makes you think either of them would want to fight? They're both generally peace-loving guys. They'd probably duke it out in a checkers match and Kenshin would mop the floor with Vash. ^^;

But if Vash got Milly to help him in checkers, Vash would surely win. (remember the episode "Escape from Pain"?) *LOL*
