oh dear oh dear.....I'm starting to like Sasuke alot and am not sure why. Noooooooooooo help help!....XD XD I don't wanna join that group of girls ---> Sakura, Ino, etc. aka the Sasuke fanclub but but........ *roots for SakuraXSasuke to distract herself*

I only like one or two "silent mean brooder" characters, the other being, Hiei of Yu Yu Hakusho. Hopefully, that makes me "normal" and not stereotyped as "those hopeless fangirls". haha

CAA: Mave....too late, you are ALREADY a hopeless bishie fangirl.
Mave: Bah....oh well *creates Sasuke fanarts*

As for female characters, I think Temari is my fav. at the moment. I don't know Hinata enough to decide whether I like her but I think I will, judging based on some members' opinions of her here in CAA. ^_~

At somewhat random I will say my favorite female character is Hinata. I feel sorry for her, and she does have the Byukagen, which is cool.

As for jutsus... indubitably Kage Bunshin. I think practically, and there is quite a bit you could do with that.

Translations: you know, I actually didn't care when they used "Art of the Doppleganger." Conversely, I found it funny (in a bad way) that Ino's technique was changed to "Art of the Valentine". And one that made me about as upset as a manga can make me (not very) was calling the Byukagen the "Evil Eye." They already kept "Sharingan" and "Kekkei Genkai" why do something like that?

Hinata owns all the other Naruto girls. she could beat them all up, too

Oh no doubt about it. I love Hinata *silently cheers for NarutoxHinata* But I also really like HinataxKiba. I'm torn between the two couples.

roots for SakuraXSasuke to distract herself

<3 SasukexSakura, even though it's kind of angsty at times. There are times I lean on NarutoxSakura, but then I feel sorry for Hinata.

Actauly, a battle between Hinata and Temari would be interesting since Hinata is a close hand to hand combat while Temari is a distance fighter. Close match.

Conversely, I found it funny (in a bad way) that Ino's technique was changed to "Art of the Valentine"

Now that you mentioned it, "Doppelganger" didn't bother me at all. "Valentine" would though. I think they changes Byukagen coz it's harder to pronounce I suppose? But overall, I'm quite pleased with the way Naruto is translated.

The worst thing a publishing company could do is to change the characters' names. Ahh...NEVER NEVER do that!

Yeah I agree SakuraXSasuke is one of the most angsty and frustrating pairings ever. >_< It's (seems) so one-sided, I wonder why I ever bother. ^_^;;

Yeah, but the good thing is it is the most developed relationship (romantic) in Naruto. It's not static- that's what gets me into it. It was interesting to see how one could see Sakura's progression from a fangirl crush to something a lot stronger. It's a really slow progression though. The only other relationship that changed like that was Naruto and Sakura- but it seemed to be mostly of frienship.

How one gets Valentine, I will never understand. Thank goodness that it hasn't been dubbed yet... imagine that. I mean usually the manga gets it correct. I don't have a problem with dubs but I have a feeling that Naruto wouldn't translate right.

I can't wait for the dub! XD I'm a dub kind of person. As long as 4Kids doesn't licence it, I think I'll be fine. *shudders at the thought* I just like hearing a language that I can understand. I'm going to use Trigun as an example for what I'm trying to explain. I don't think I would like the Japanese Trigun as much, because a lot of the fun I get out of the show is hearing Vash's and Wolfwood's expressions and words to different circumstances. If they don't totally butcher Naruto like they did Yu-Gi-Oh!, I will probably like it better than the Japanese.

That has to do with a bit of translation liberty that is really quite necessary. Just because something is a literal translation doesn't mean it sounds good in the slightest. For example, there was an old NES game that, while [p]perfectly translated, was stupid. No one cares about a "Dagger of Stabbing." In some cases taking such liberties is important (and also why a translator must have complete understanding of the second language.

I hope this isn't offensive, but with Yu-Gi-Oh there wasn't that much to butcher. Which is really strange, because I have a great deal of respect for Kazuki Takahashi as a person, at least from what I've read of his interviews.

Actually, I beg to differ. While Yu-Gi-Oh!DM was almost like a thirty minute comercial, it did have it's good points. Entire characters personalities were changed as is their past. For example- Malik (Marik). Malik wanted revenge because Shadi told him that the pharoah slaughtered him parents, when actually he did so. Little things like that make a difference

The Yu-gi-Oh!manga is a lot better than the series.

I really don't mind dubs, name changes, ect. But 4-Kids does have a horrible reputation in their dubs for a good reason. I am partial to pretty much any other dub. Funimation, for example. Some people whine about it but they keep it closer to the original anime than 4-Kids and always manage to get good voice actors.

I won't argue that the anime was far worse, or that the dub was worse than the original. But I do have a relatively low opinion of even the original Yu-gi-oh, in quite a few different areas. However, I doubt anyone here will change any else's opinion.

Well to each their own.

When did we start talking about YGO!DM anyways? Back to Naruto...

Did you hear about the movie- it came out in Japan already. I heard it wasn't all that good, but that's ok. I will still watch it.

yeah, it they have a subbed torrent version, the quality won't be too good. Cause it might be recorded at a theatre and all

I have nothing really substantial to contribute further in this post but I just wanted to say that your comment above, Splintered, did make me realize why I "even bothered" with that pairing. It's true, I was unconsciously attracted to how Sakura's love for Sasuke has matured. ^_^

To Splintered: Yes, to each his/her own. It was pretty tangental.

It already came out? That's good to hear. I'm very curious about it, but I will see it regardless.

Actually, from what I've heard and seen, it takes place some time after the Chuunin exams, but that there was a scene that Kakashi was remembering something that happened ten years ago when he was an ANBU.

um, it must take place in the 'present', because Naruto is there. Naruto was not there 17 years ago. also, Kakashi is not wearing an ANBU outfit in the trailers.

i know there will be some kakashi story, because
he has a history with one of the newly introduced ninjas in the movie
and im pretty sure it happens right around where the anime is right now because,
it seems from the trailer that naruto knows the rasengan and sasuke knows the chidori
To clarify: the movie takes place primarily in the present, but does contain a flashback (I am uncertain how long) to Kakashi's past at a location in which he once had a mission.
