Well to start with, can you tell us a little more about yourself? Do you prefer action, romance, fantasy...? Shojo or shonen? What are some of your favorite manga titles, if you have any? And also, this is very important, what are your limits as far as language, nudity, adult scenes, blood, etc. go?

Good question, I enjoy action most I think but I'm up for a good romance once in a while too. I think Rurouni Kenshin is almost closest to what I like, it has almost the perfect balance, that and Fushigi Yugi. Ah, shojo or shonen, either is fine. And as far as language, nudity, adult scenes, blood, etc. Nudity and adult scenes not wild about, as long as I'm not having to hit the fastforward button every five seconds, but if it's avoidable thats good. This goes the same for language, blood I really don't mind though. I really enjoy well developed characters.

Perhaps you should give Cowboy Bebop a spin? That's the best of what I can think of at the moment...Trigun is a pretty great series as well action wise.

From what I've heard, you might also like Naruto--it somewhat reminds me (I have not seen it so please don't take my word for it) of RK. I'd also recommend Last Exile, but I haven't seen all of it. Be sure to research these both a little more before you go on my word--again I haven't seen them all.

If you want a clean change-of-pace from the action shoot-ems, perhaps Fruits Basket is worth looking into?

Zarn Zarn, you seriously suggesting Tenchi? okay so I liked it too. .

Judging by your list of anime I would steer clear of FMP! I have it and it is okay but lacks a flow.

Considering what you have. I would go with EVA. . . but, well you know. I have a friend that has Ceres and X and now wants EVA badly.

Don't start fushigi yugi. The series never ends. . . I just watched season 1. Way too annoying after a while.

Try Crest and banner of the Stars. They rock! Lots of ship battles and cute love-love humor. :) Not much in the way of nudity at all (maybe on bathing scene all the way through). And blood is non-existant from what I hear.

It's best if you stick tothe original 6 OVA epsiodes first. I prefer El Hazard to Tenchi, but both are good.

Full Metal Panic is another good title - strong on comedy, a lot of good action, and even a little romance. It has it all.

We're not helping much, are we?

*suddenly develops a strange form of cancer, watches Tenchi and ish cured* It really does work! I've already seen the entire Fushigi Yugi series, plus my friend owns it. *Looks at Xavier249 avatar* Dude, that is awesome! Love Trigun but you see I should have mentioned this earlier but I'm looking for one that doesn't play on tv much since I can just watch those. Don't worry termyt you guys are posting ideas and that's plenty of help! Ok, question time! Has anyone here seen final fantasy unlimited? I heard that was good too.

Oh, I have! it's awesome!! you should try watching it too, but the extras are somewhat vaguely disturbing....
anyway, i strongly recommend naruto, it's got action and comedy, or fruits basket, if you're looking for a good laugh and some soft romance and action.
I personally like Yu Yu Hakusho, but it might get too violent for you, or you can try evangelion. I havent' seen all of it, but i heard it's good. well, there're so many different anime out there that's all awesome, good luck finding your place in the anime world...^_^

For a great action title that few people have seen, look at Gasaraki. The box set is sometimes selling for as low as $30 for 8 discs (which might leave a little extra money to buy some other anime...). It has big robots, big monsters, lots of mystery, and a twist ending (kind of).

For a good romance kick, try the first box set of Marmalade Boy. I recently finished the first 18 episodes (all that's available) and I'm hooked. It's pretty funny, too, and definitely worthy of a long-time commitment.

Hope this helps!

Really? Seen it all. How many eps/seasons are there?

 cured! :)

Mylares wrote:*Looks at Xavier249 avatar* Dude, that is awesome! Love Trigun but you see I should have mentioned this earlier but I'm looking for one that doesn't play on tv much since I can just watch those.

Thanks!! I like my AV too. :)

Yeah. . . that's my criteria too. Exception is anything .hack. . It rocks and is really clean. . .hack fanatic. . . . here.
Mylares wrote: Ok, question time! Has anyone here seen final fantasy unlimited? I heard that was good too.

AVOID FF:U. No, I haven't seen it, but that is what I am told by people who have seen it.

I would seriously push for you getting EVA or Crest of the Stars, then. crest plays on Tech TV, but not many people have that, or for that matter the dub is terrible. .
Another one (considering your choices already. . .) would maybe be soul taker or Hellsing, but I don't know how fond of the horror genre you are.
Or if you wany an exeptional series. Try the original Macross. I am told by Father V :

"That one's got it all. Transforming mecha, romance, high drama, killing off of main characters, death, idol singers, you name it."

Lovely ne? It is about 36 eps. so it would keep you busy for a while too.

Naruto is pretty good, funny at times, with nice ninja/magic combat.
I just finished the Last Exile series, and it's very nice, a little more serious, but very good.
It sounds like you would like something like Full Metal Alchemist (not as serious/realistic as RK, but the characters develop nicely)

If you're looking at buying a series, you probably won't be able to buy Naruto (I think the episode numbers are in the 90s now)
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.

I'm a big Macross lover. That was the very first anime I actually got into, watched start to finish, and loved every minute of it.

umm aren't those either still being released or not yet coming to the USA? I think FMA is coming soon but won't be completed for years, and naruto. . . well 90 eps is a long way off here.

My suggestions still stand. :)

Ah, yes. Gasaraki. A touching tale about a family torn apart by the son's battle with CDD. (Compulsive Dance Disorder). The trials that poor family went through.

LOL @ ZARN ISHTARE.
Ok, so I liked Tenchi too, but if you get Tenchi, get Tenchi Universe. Tenchi in Tokyo SUCKED.

Hmm... Nadesico is nice. It's got action, a lot of comedy, drama, romance (in the typical anime way, of course) Once instance of nudity (fetal position, nothing's visible) It's 26 ep, a game not in the US, and a movie. Also, it is a satire show. I like it, anyhow.

(check out my sig... the girl behind Claudia is Ruri from Nadesico, just about everyone's favorite character... Of course, mine was Gai, but Ruri came in a close second...
