Songs Sung By Anime Characters

Postby Destroyer2000 » Sat Jul 10, 2004 9:18 pm

I know that throughout many different anime series, they have many different songs played in them. This thread is for you to recognize WHO you think sings what song. For example, in Rurouni Kenshin, the song 'Heart of Sword' was sung by Kenshin, I'm also positive. Or it was meant to seem like that, just as 'Half' was meant to seem as if it was sung by Misao.

Hmm...well "Heart of Sword" *prods my CAA name*...the voice seems a little too rough-sounding to be Kenshin, but I may be wrong.

The song "Endless Future" at the end of Samurai X: The Motion Picture sounds like Kenshin is singing it. The voice matches EXACTLY.

"My Will" at the end of Inuyasha sounds like Kagome. (I love that song...heh)

Let's see, I'm pretty sure that the Pokemon song is Ash.

That's all I can remember right now though.
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

If you're curious, you can always look up the song on http://animelyrics.com. Usually they'll tell you who sings the song, and you can match it up with the voice actor.

The op/ed songs on Dirty Pair Flash Mission 3 (Random Angels was the name of the separate DVD; it'd be eps 11-16 on the Perfect Collection DVD) were sung by Yuri's seiyuu and Kei's seiyuu respectively.
To all, life thou givest, to both great and small.
In all life, thou livest, the true life of all.
We blossom and flourish as leaves on a tree
And wither and perish, but naught changeth thee.

That's not what I mean, not the way it sounds. I mean by the lyrics and such...which character do you think would sing it judging by that? By personality, I suppose.

Ah. I stand by my statement about DPF Mission 3 then, because the op song is very sugary (like Yuri) and the ed song very dark and a bit gruff (like Kei).

The end theme to cowboy bebop seems to be for spike and julia. I think the opening theme is for the whole crew though.
And the Orphen theme is all about Orphen, except one of the closing themes (I don't remember which, but it's toward the end of the series) is about cleo.

There is one of these I heard today. It is a remake of the opening song to Evangelion. Cruel angel Thesis sung by the japanese voice actors for Asuka, Misato, and rei. It is really cool!!!

Edit: Oh my oh my!!! I thought of another one. Melfina sings a really enchanting song in Outlaw star.. oh. . . that one still brings goosebumps.

Melfina's cute!! hm mm . . . I say that anime charas are cute often.

Also I believe that the Samurai Girl: Real bout high school ending song is sung by the voice for Miyuki-chan.

oh and yup! you guessed it. Miyuki-chan is cute too! :)

on the Eva soundtracks there are an incredible number of remixes of the ED song, "Fly Me To The Moon", including one sung by Rei.

The Tenchi Muyo! cast sang 'Jingle Bells' and 'Silent Night' in the Christmas special, I believe. I have the mp3s. It's very odd. :eyebrow:

The "Baka" song sung by Akane especially for Ranma. ^^ And who can forget Moonbay's "I am a Transporter of the Wasteland" song?

"Gravity," the ending from Wolf's Rain, sounds like maybe it's Chezza or the blonde lady in the coat.

Actually, Kenshin can sing well. If you heard him sing horribly, then I'm guessing you saw (or rather heard) the American dub, the one by Columbia Tristar, I believe. He sounds awful there because they deliberately made him sound ridiculous during the circus scene, but in the Japanese original, he (voiced by Suzukaze Mayo...who happens to be a woman) was singing a traditional Japanese song and he was very much in tune. Suzukaze Mayo also sang the 2nd ending song, Namida Wa Shitteiru, and lots of the image songs.

Sorry. Just had to say that. I'm rather protective of Kenshin.

Well, the theme seems to have wandered, but I think this could be really funny. Based on character personalities, lyrics, etc, who do I think would sing which songs?

Ryoga (ranma 1/2): 500 Miles (the proclaimers)
Lum (urusai yatsura): Linger (Cranberries)
Hitome (escaflowne): Fly me to the Moon
Dr Tofu (ranma 1/2): There She Goes (sixpence)

Yeah, I saw it on CN. But really, there's no need to be incensed. ^^x Kenshin's bad singing in the American dub almost makes him more adorable...to fangirls...

The greatest song sung by an anime character is most definetly ...
{drumroll}
"the genocide song" by Vash The Stampede
thanks for playing, your a beautiful crowd
The loving, caring, and slightly bad-influencing father of 1balloonpopper and khakibluesocks!!!
Also I'm not sure how -_-' but somehow I am the Master and Father of Spectro-King according to his signature ... but hey I'm up for having a minion ... so jump stupid ... I'll have him keeeeel you
 Evil child of Fantasy Dreamer and Dark Disturbed Grandchild of Cephas VII
On a quest to adopt Cephas
 WACKY BANANA!!! ROCKER!!! glomp of DOOM!!!
Ive noticed something interesting, when a place is really amazing people say it must be seen to believed ... but the most amazing place ever must be believed to be seen.

Kenshin (Mayo Suzukaze) was not the singer of Heart of Sword, that is T.M. Revolution. I know that Mayo Suzukaze sings one of the openings/endings, but it's in her more female voice. As for Half, I don't remember that one too well.

Since most seiyuu are also singers, pretty much all anime characters have at least one image song done by the seiyuu in the character's voice. Occasionally, they also sing the openings/endings. The two that come to mind are Be My Angel by Atsuko Enomoto (Misaki Suzuhara/Angelic Layer) and Over the Fantasy by Kana Ueda (Herba [I think]/Final Fantasy: Unlimited).
