Greetings -- my name is Bob, and I enjoy watching anime. (*Hi Bob!*)
I've been in the military 19 years, and am currently stationed in Seoul, Korea. My family (wife, three children - 18, 14, 12) live in North Carolina. All of them are anime fans to one degree or another.
Professionally, I work in the IM/IT field. I'm currently responsible for all Army medical networks and telecommunications on the Korean peninsula. My specialty is "Medical Informatics"; I study decision-making processes in medical organizations and try to improve them through better user interface design, appropriate data capture devices, and so on.
I've been a Christian since my Sophomore year in College. My favorite Christian authors are C.S. Lewis and Oswald Chambers. I'm currently reading "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I listen to all manner of Christian (and a fair amount of non-Christian) music; I've been a Rich Mullins fan since the late '80s; other artists I've listened to recently include Andrew Peterson and Sara Groves.
My main hobby is boardgaming; I enjoy learning, playing, and reviewing games, attend one or two game conventions a year (usually World Boardgaming Championships, Prezcon, or Origins), and am in the process of designing my first game.
I've been watching anime for almost five years. My favorite series tend to be some of the stranger or deeper ones (Haibane Renmei, SE: Lain, Boogiepop Phantom), although I've enjoyed titles like Marmalade Boy and Azumanga Daioh.
I'm glad to have found Christian Anime Alliance, and look forward to exchanging views and reviews with all of you.
