If somebody has already done this, would some kind mod. shut me up? Anyway... I thought it'd be cool to run a best anime ever poll. Nominate your favorites! The rules are:

-Each person gets to nominate one show.

-Any banned anime cannot be nominated. Basically, if CAA doesn't like it, you can't nominate it.

-It must be anime. If it is manga too, that's fine, but otherwise, no go.

-You have to have your nominations in by July 20th. Voting will begin a bit after that date.

-I'll take bizarre nominations, but well known anime would be appreciated. I know we all have our obscure favorites, but try to keep it in the bounds of common knowledge.

If I need any more rules, PM me or something. Let's get it on!

I nominate TRIGUN because I.LOVE.IT!!! Watching this anime actually made me feel good instead of crummy like the other ones I've seen.it has a great message and teaches you to find different ways to handle situations rather than sinning.It has great characters and great story lines.It's not perfect,and there is some language.I still like it and give it an A++++++++++++++++

I have a tiny question about htis rule. In past contest-- the Bishoujo contest for example, both Asuka and Rei were contestants. Despite the face that the anime they're from (Neon Genesis Evangelion-- just in case you've been living on Pluto for the last fifteen years) is on the "do not discuss list". Being on or related to a "do not dicuss" has not yet been established as basis for throwing out a contestant. Still, it's totally upto you wether you want to let non-discussion entrants in, but I thought I'd just throw this out there.

I have two odd questions.

1. Banned anime? I thought it was that we weren't supposed to discuss them, not that we couldn't mention them. Or am I picking apart the rules too much.

2. Okay this isn't much of a question, but I like what you are doing. The list will be pretty long, are you prepared?

I would push for .hack//Sign.

I would nominate either Trigun or Cardcaptor Sakura...my two favorites, and since it appears Trigun is already nom'd (look mom! a new word!) I'd push CCS.

On the subject of banned anime, I've decided to just keep things simple and ban what CAA bans. (I don't know much about Neon Genesis (sorry, I'm from Pluto :sweat:

), but I'm surprised that those characters were allowed in the Bishoujo. Wasn't one of those characters, erm, scantily clad?)

How's life on Pluto? :grin:

I'm not sure why they were allowed exactly, but I speculate that it has something to do with the anime being banned because of it's questionable/supposed Christian themes. I myself have seen the series and movies as I have a friend who is really really into the series . . .. . . . no comment.

When it comes to characters being scantily clad, do you mean all the time or just in some pics. Some of the really clean animes I have seen have not-so-clean pics of the characters

(.hack for example.).

Also, I have a question for initialdfreak: did you reccommend Initial D at all? :grin:

From what I've seen in past threads and at threads being closed, the reasons certain series seemed to be banned from discussion is because the questionable content caused many long-winded, unending, acutely heated arguing.

I also have a question before I nominate... Will a series go into the voting because it is nominated multiple times, or will all the nominations be entered? This may likely change the outcome of people's nominations...
