Postby ShiroiHikari » Thu Jun 24, 2004 2:22 pm

Oh my gosh you guys-- err, or girls ^^; I just read some of Full Moon wo Sagashite thanks to the lovely Ashley, and I must say it's really, really good!!

Does anyone know of any campaigns going on to get this series licensed? If not, let's start one! I just emailed Viz and hopefully they'll see it.

Btw, Takuto is like, super hot. >___>;;

If there's a petition, I'll sign it! :D

But don't let that stop you.
So, Hikari, can you read japanese, or did you get translation sheets?
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Feh...I wish I could read Japanese well...that would open up 'Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenyaku Romantan: Juuyuushi Inbou Hen' to me so I could play it.

Oh, yeah, BTW, I won't let it being Shoujo stop me. As far as I'm concerned, Anime and manga are anime and manga, regardless of it being shoujo or shonen.

I read the first chapter of it at the above link.

Anyways, given that quite a few companies have been licensing shoujo manga lately, I imagine it will be licensed eventually.

Personally I emailed Viz and put down Full Moon as one of the series I'd like to see them license. If we want to start a petition, I'd be glad to sign it as well. I know that DC's new manga line has picked up Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne for this fall, so FMS might not be far behind. Which is great news! And yes, Takuto's super hot. ^^

I never read Full Moon, but I lubb it!!! XD Mitsuki is so pretty and Takuto is absolutely hot!! I think that Tokyopop should license it...And if Viz does license it, I hope they won't mess ANYTHING up!!

From what I've read, Full Moon is about a girl named Mitsuki who loves to sing but has a deadly throat cancer. Two shinigami come to her and warn her that she only has a little time to live. But she made a promise to a childhood friend that she would become a famous singer and they would find each other in the future so Takuto, the boy shinigami, helps her become a singer. So she drinks a drop of his blood (?) and whenever he snaps his fingers, she becomes Full Moon, a grown up singer girl.....now I never watched/read it so I'm not sure, but this is what I got out of my research!!! ^^;

For someone that hasn't read it, you were right on Little T. I recently finished the anime series, and it was fantastic! Definately my favorite series thus far. Kisa, it kinda reminded me of Fruits Basket--like Tohru, Mitsuki is one of those characters that makes you feel better and makes you want to be a better person. On top of that, besides a slipped in curse word or two, the series is absolutely one hundred percent clean.

Gypsy and I are working on a joint review the moment the database comes back online.
