Fox Box will be our downfall. The have now added Tokyo Mew Mew to their lineup, along with the much mourned One Piece. I don't know who the dubber is, but as long as it isn't 4Kids or FUNi, we might be okay...
Think happy thoughts.

4Kids edited One Piece.

And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes

4Kids picked up Tokyo Mew Mew several months ago. They originally changed the name (I can hear you all screaming now) to Hollywood Mew Mew. Evidently, the outcry was so great they have since changed the name back to Tokyo Mew Mew. As to the editing of One Piece, it's too early to see exactly what they have done yet as is the case of Tokyo Mew Mew. You may be surprised. As for Funi's dubbing, they have done excellent work in their past few releases. I'm beginning to repeat myself with these threads defending the companies. I'm going to be quiet now. :bang:

I know, that (Hollywood Mew Mew) sounds like some kind of uncreative hentai title....

Why is everyone always bashing Funimation? I was told they did a really top notch job with Furuba which is one of their most recent titles. Yeah, yeah, I know you can go back to past titles. . . but comeon folks-- let go! ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Yeah, I rather liked the job on Furuba, though admittedly some of Funi's other earlier projects were...um...less than up to what I would consider a good dub.

Problem is, if it's for FoxBox, it's guaranteed to be edited in some way or another.

Funimation got Furuba? I didn't know that...hm...what is so bad about some of their other dubs? I don't much like the art in Furuba (anime), but they didn't have anything to do with it...how can Furuba's dub be compared to others they've done?

I heard that they changed the name back to Tokyo Mew Mew.. due to the total oddness of the other name. As for the One Piece... I just hope that Funimation releases some uncut subbed DVDs like they did for DBZ. (Funimation does DVDs for 4kids)

According to the recent 4kids press release, Tokyo Mew Mew will air on the FoxBox this fall.

As for One Piece, the show is rather violent. Many of the characters have tragic, violent backstories and so forth, not to mention one major character who is a heavy smoker(I can just see the surgeon general have a heart attack...) and a lot of underage drinking(...come this fall...Luffy and company will probably be drinking root beer...courtesy of 4kids). Actually, the outcry over the licensing of this title would probably be much greater if uncut Yugioh and Shaman King dvds had not been recently announced via Funimation and slated for a fall release giving all of the One Piece fans hope for a potential uncut release of this. I think that that is a decent possibility assuming that the aforementioned dvds are both done right and they sell well. That shall remain to be seen. Personally, I'm trying to remain optimistic, even with 4kids' reputation for butchered dubs...

As for Funimation, the reason people seen to bash them is because of their early work on DBZ. I've rarely heard complaints about their other dubs(aside from DBGT, and not counting a few minor things like the Detective Conan/Case Closed name changes).
