...I'd just like to point out that though everyone refers to DBZ Goku as Son Goku, and Saiyuki Goku as Saiyuki Goku, they're both based off the same character...making them BOTH Son Goku. ^.~

yes, and either one Son Goku is a cool character. ;)

About the human form fight:
Much better fight... maybe InuYasha... i don't like the idea of a guy with claws.
Yet Goku (DBZ) was rasied by his grandfater, and tault martial arts...
this one is a better fight, but if InuYasha is human, aren't his claws just long nails? what if he breaks a nail in the fight?

Inuyasha's not human, though (he's half-demon), and those claws are really CLAWS.

This thread is ridiculous. I hope (as a member, not a moderator) that we don't have too many more battle threads. They use completely different sets of world mechanics, so any comparison is pointless. Inuyasha is a 2nd level fighter, Goku is 3rd level (by the traditional rankings). Logically, the 3rd level fighter will win.

Consider the following: Vegita's Galic Gun is supposed to be able to destroy planet Earth, back in the first saga. Goku takes a Galic Gun head on and doesn't die. Nothing Inuyasha can do does as much damage as something that could destroy Earth.

Heart of Sword wrote:Yeah because Goku just ALWAYS wins. It gets kind of boring.

He actually loses more than he wins, if you count.

Heart of Sword wrote:BUT, if there was a fight between them--no superpowers, no law of Goku winning--who'd win?

The question defeats the purpose. If the two of them were to fight, but neither was allowed to use any powers whatsoever, including walking, moving, attacking, defending, etc, who would win?

why not just call it a truce then? they are both GOOD fighters, anyhow..  even though i am an inuyasha fan myself, i must admit that Son Goku is also strong.. (both dbz and genso) :forehead: just a suggestion.. :jump: :jump:

If that ends it, then so be it.

Most issues of characters battling would probably never exist in the first place. As was mentioned earlier in this thread, they really have no motivation to fight each other, and both would probably end up eating whatever was handy.

Oh, indeed. I really don't like popularity contests in the first place. But I think at this point I will stop complaining and let all these people bicker as they wish. Just so long as the bickering is kept from random gushing.

As I have said (too often) in this thread, I think that Goku would easily win. It's really an unfair match up, because they are on completely different levels of power. But Inuyasha would win a popularity contest hands down.

I actually think that it's impossible to tell, because they populate two different fictional worlds. Goku may be the most powerful being in the universe in DBZ (and extremely powerful in Saiyuki), and Inuyasha may not be the most powerful character in the world of Inuyasha, but that doesn't mean that Inuyasha isn't the most powerful in the worlds of Saiyuki or DBZ (or vice versa).

That said, I still say Inuyasha would win given his own speed, the backlash wave and the windscar-on-command.

As you said, it is a popularity contest, but it's a popularity contest where the character's popularity is about the only constant we have to compare.

As I have been saying from the beginning... but I'm glad to hear someone agrees with me.

That said, I still say Goku would win given the ability to destroy planets, take massive amounts of damage and teleportation.

But all in all, what I'd really like to say is this: it doesn't matter.

Just because I like to argue (and because I'm an Inuyasha fanboy), Goku (I'm assuming we're referring to DBZ Goku, since he's the one who takes the time to blow up planets, etc., in his series) would blow himself apart given Inuyasha's Backlash Wave. So we're back where we started--Inuyasha wins, although a good portion of the world may be gone before the energy gets to him to be thrown back via Backlash Wave (which may actually result in his eventual death too, since who knows what obliterating a large chunk of the world does to the remainder's atmosphere [rhetorical question]?).

I see no particular reason not to waste about twenty seconds posting in response. Might as well.

Conversely, Goku shows himself quite capable of surviving a planet-destroying blast. I don't know about the Backlash Wave, but I don't imagine it works constantly, does it?

Yeah, it's as on-command as Inuyasha's Windscar becomes by season 4 (I think we're up to season 4 now on Adult Swim...). Only criterion is that there has to be something there to be reversed back at its user. If that's the case, Inuyasha pretty much activates the Windscar while inside the energy blast (as exemplified in the first ep of season 4, where it's used on demon-lord Ryokotusei's dragon-breath weapon--and apparently Inuyasha is protected from it while inside thanks to Tetsusaiga) and sends it straight back at its user, then calling down tornadoes that cut through anything in their path (in Ryokotusei's case, his draconic body).
