Another good resource for help overcoming addictions, hurts, hang-ups, habits is the Celebrate Recovery program. It is essentially a Christ-centered 12 step program. Not just alcoholism, but any other addiction/hurt/hang-up (pornography, disordered eating, self injury, substance abuse, recovering from past abuse, etc.).

I highly recommend the program. Many local churches offer it.

I have recently started the CR program for certain addictions that I am struggling with as well as to learn more Christ-centered ways of coping with pain and distress than the unhealthy ways I tend to follow.

For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I've been unofficially diagnosed with PTSD by a counseling intern within the past year. I'm going to be looking to see if I can get an "official" diagnosis soon, or find out if it might be something else, but we're pretty certain that's what it is. Please pray for me as I've been facing major relapses with my depression, anxiety attacks, nightmares, etc. To be honest, this is the biggest reason why I haven't been coming on as much, just because I've been feeling so overwhelmed in my head to get much of anything accomplished. I've even had to take time off of school just because my anxiety level was too high to handle studying. For the first time in quite some time I've been struggling with a relapse in my temptation to self-harm like I used to back when I was a teenager, but thankfully I haven't actually done that yet. I'm hanging on by His grace alone. But His power is made perfect in weakness.

Thankfully around February I've reconnected with a friend that I sort've lost touch with for awhile and he invited me to his church. I've been going there and the people there have been very helpful and understanding of me. I couldn't have gotten through this without them, my mom, and above all my amazing God.

Also John_Smith, I read your post too (the first one, still need to read your update) and will be praying for you as well. I'd say more (and of course read your update before saying more too) but I'm feeling so exhausted I can barely think straight right now (my anxiety's had me on about three or four hours of sleep at best for a few days now so I'm amazed I can even type this much, to be honest). Just wanted to throw that out there so you know you have another person who's praying and hoping the best for you.

Thank you Claec (and anyone else who might have prayed without posting). I've still been struggling quite a bit and unfortunately stumbled across something very triggering the other day. I'm getting by in His grace and it seems like things are subsiding, but prayer is still needed in that area. I don't really have time to/want to say more than that right now but God knows what's needed. Thank you.

Praying, Sno!

Please pray for me --I just finished my 3rd week in the Celebrate Recovery program. This has been one of the hardest processes I've ever been through. I know it's very much needed. It's just being face-to-face with reality and with the sheer ugliness of my sin and habits and brokenness --and then having to share that with other people. I find myself still holding back a few things out of fear --though I've been assured time and time again of confidentiality and that others have been there --and even as other women have shared their struggles --it's just so hard to say certain words --to be out with the exact nature of my struggles.

Yet I know that what stays in darkness will only grow --and it is only by bringing it into the light that healing and recovery can begin.

Just, pray, please. This is hard. Really hard.

You say this as if it is impossible for a Christian to commit rape.

I also fail to see how this is in any way relevant whatsoever to Gene's post. She is glad that a criminal was convicted for the crime they committed, I didn't see her say anything about wanting the guy to go to Hell or even that he deserves worse. She said she was happy that our justice system got it right; I don't see why your post was made, whether you have a point or not.

I'm really struggling. I made it past 30 days sober, then lost my sobriety (not alcohol, but other stuff --one of the things I'm in the CR program for). This is SO HARD. Having to call my sponsor and say I had a relapse was hard. She was so loving towards me. I was expecting condemnation, but got love instead --and encouragement to keep striving towards Christ.

Please pray for me. This program is the hardest thing I've ever done. It's so needed, but hard. I want to be free of this.

I feel like everyone here deserves an update.
… After a lot of struggling, procrastination, and frustration with computer programs, I finally have a block on my computers I’m happy with. Unfortunately I have yet to find one for my phone. Or the twenty billion other devices I have that can connect to the internet. (At this point, I’m weary of my toaster.)

“I’m not out of the woods yet.” In truth, while I can see light, I’m still in the thick of the forest. This is something new for me. I have no idea what sort of struggle I have ahead of me. And that’s a little worrying. But I’m hopeful, and believe I’ll get out of this. Prayers are still very much appreciated.

Sheenar, I want you to know I’m praying for you.

Guys its its Youtube. *Sheds tear* I relapsed because there was too much temptation that I should of turned away from. I have it blocked for now, but don't know how long that will last considering that I know the password that can unlock it at a moments notice. I use to love Youtube for its funny videos and vintage commercials. Now its turned into a time waster and a place of constant relapsing. Help!

I've been praying for you guys and will be sure to pray for you too Will.

I've already shared this passage with a few of you privately, but I've decided that it's something we can all use, because we all have moments when we struggle and/or stumble. It's the passage I always turn to when I feel that God might not love me anymore because of something I've done or when I feel temptation is too great: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?s ... rsion=NKJV

My password consists of fifteen random characters. I gave it to a friend, and then I printed two copies out, just in case he misplaces it. I intend to place those two copies somewhere I don’t always have access to, and somewhere where I’m not tempted, so that they don’t become a problem. Then I’ll delete all traces of it I can find on my computer.

The only reason why I haven't yet, is because I intend to first use the same the same password for my phone, and I still haven’t found a decent blocker for that yet.

This might sound poetic- but I'm afraid right now. What I tell is true
Demons are here in my room, I'm terrified yet everything is calm.
It's not insanity. I can type. Slowly.
Awhile back I made a post about Sebastian Michaelis taking over me. I tried to follow the advice of you good people. I really tried to ditch him. But today, months later, he's returning, worse then ever. I'm shaking but I can't let go of him. Help me please... Pray for my, rebuke them from afar, cast the demons from me!
...
Yet it feels..nice. He's here, beautiful. Beautiful demon.
My brother was praying in the other room out loud. I hear him. For someone else, but the feelings subsided. I'm shaking again.
I've typed so much...
I'm calmer now. Someone is praying. Angels are here? No..
But the feeling was nice! Demons were nice. The lust for him, the abcence of the lord in my mind. I could do whatever I wanted!
But now I'm back...
It happened when I got the feelings for him again. I don't know if any of you understand. My tumblr is entirely drowned in kuroshitsuji. I liked a lot of posts. They were nice. Pentagrams and sexy Sebastian Michaelis. Posts that said things like
Dance with the devil
You are not a true kuroshitsuji fan unless you have made a contract with a real demon.
My heart is dark
My blood is cold
My skin is pale
My heart is dark

Save me

I'm just typing thoughts at this point..grasping them as they come.
I looked at tumblr for reference just now and the feeling returned. The nice, evil feelings. I want to embrace them. I want to listen to the demons in my head. The spirits are real, they are here. When I closed the app I felt more normal. Maybe I should draw a demon. Yeah, my sketch pad is right here.. Sex fills my mind. Sebastian. Lust. He's eating my soul. He's taking me away to his realm. What am I typing anymore kill killknife I'm dying don't die...

Help meee
Pray
Please believe me
Every second more
What time is it
I'm still alive..I'm fine..Seb...
I'm an evil sinner, dying slowly..take me

Calling everyone on this, just hold on! Please continue praying while everyone gets here!
Galatians 3:13 NIV: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”

Luke 6:31 NIV (The Golden Rule): Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Are you supposed to be on any anti-psychotic medication? If so, why are you not taking them? Assuming what you've posted isn't just some joke, you're having something akin to a paranoid-schizophrenic breakdown and what you really need is to be attended to by someone who understands psychology.

thedragongirl77 wrote:I'm sorry . I'm not crazy I'm just scared

I'm sure you are scared, but you're also, quite obviously, having a mental breakdown, which plants you firmly in the "crazy" category. Take your meds if you have them, if you don't then you need to see a psychologist and get placed on them, preferably sooner rather than later, so you don't panic and end up killing someone or yourself in your paranoia.

I'm okay now. It's never happened before, and I'm not seeing anyone. Ever. I'm not going to take any meds. It was a demon. I know it, I believe demons are real and they can do that to people. What I don't understand is why it felt so nice. A simple swipe of a hard I could have killed myself. Instead I deleted tumblr finally. I probably overexagerated...no. I'm not sure. I've never been diagnosed by a doctor with any mental disorder. It was real and they were there. I'm not going to go see a doctor for any of it. No matter what anyone here tells me. Just a one time thing, but I'm not sure why now, and why it seemed good to me.

Not believing in demons and Satan is like denying all Christanity. They ARE real and they CAN do these things to people. It is good that you wrote what is going on, because it could've been MUCH worse. I'm happy that you are feeling better. :)

Thank you, but do you have any ideas to why it was good to me? At one point I was clawing the floor. I reached for my iPod and opened Word Alert.
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. - Proverbs 28:13
It was pretty relevant. I know it was spirits. I know my desires were wrong. I never stopped kuro when I should have.

Just because you've never been diagnosed with a disorder does not rule out anything. You seem to be approaching getting help with a poor attitude. The Church actually does perform literal exorcisms for demonic possession, but this is extremely rare and every exorcist or priest will tell you to first seek the help of a mental health professional if you actually think you're being directly attacked by demons...
