Episode 9:

...And DOUBLE YES! I am so pleased right now. :jump: They're not adding, changing, or cutting a thing during this sequence at all! This is excellent. I mean, why they didn't just do this from the start I don't know :P, but right now I don't care, because this is precisely how this section should be done, and I'm loving it!
Also, bwahaha, Samon's expressions when he's being totally outwitted/confused... I can't wait to see the rest of them over the course of this sequence.:grin:
Episode 10: SPOILER: Highlight text to read: Oh how I love seeing Samon get pwned, hahaha.

Anyway :) , now I think you can see why I was originally a bit concerned about how the anime would adapt this sequence (until a couple of episodes ago, that is-- I definitely have no worries now! :thumb: ), because it's quite a lengthy one (though rightfully so, IMO). I love all the twists and turns and revelations and how intense the theory-sparring and mental/verbal battle-of-wits is during this section of the manga, and the anime has actually been doing an excellent job of adapting said sequence so far. :jump: Looking forward to the next ep.! :)

Blast of Tempest more like Samon's ridiculous faces.

Actually, now that we're near the halfway point am I the only one expecting this to turn out like FFVI?

Having watched up until episode 9...

SPOILER: Highlight text to read: Hakase's bones and time issue are ridiculously easy to solve. They just need to go back in time, get her, and bring her there to solve all the problems. She then makes it clear to her (loyal) clanmates that when she does, they are to deposit her bones back on the island in the past. Problem solved with zero continuity issues. If the magic can somehow transmit her voice through time, this universe clearly isn't too stacked against time travel.

As for Aika's killer, it must be Junichirou. We know it was someone from their clan, and yet if they had used magic to kill they would be easily traceable. he can't use magic like the others can. Slam dunk case.

Okay, I'll probably be mostly wrong about everything but speculating is fun. I called Obito = Tobi from Naruto years ago, after all :P

So apparently there's going to be a second OP which means there's going to be another cours? For some reason I thought it was only one cours.

Huh, I always assumed it would be at least 2 cours, which is why I'm expecting it to go all FFVI on us pretty soon.

A new challenger (will) appear!
Can't say I'm a fan of the "oh snap, there's actually this other person we don't know yet who's the real villain." Or do we know them? Dun dun duuuun.

Anyways, I caught up with this. Hakase is still my favorite character, though I'm a bit partial to Yoshino. And I'm glad we finally got some Tempest references in there.

I hate to brag, but I'm trying to remember if I called something like this since the Princess of the Crystal's identity.

Episode 13: Hmm... mostly just recap with a little explanation of the events that occurred while Mahiro was asleep sprinkled throughout, and then the intro to the new arc at the end.

I have to say, though, IMO Hanemura's casting was perfect-- his voice literally sounded *exactly* how I thought it would! :)

^ Indeed.

Other thoughts about the episode: Well, here's the point in the manga where I started saying "Poor Hanemura  " in my comments about pretty much every chapter, LOL.

Also: Hakaze in love~

Going to put this on hold now for a little while until the translation of the manga gets a bit farther along, but once it does I'll definitely be coming back to finish the anime. :)

Yay, the comedy stuff didn't totally disappear like I thought it would.

Also, flashy Mage of Exodus scene gave me flashbacks to Code Geass.

That being said, I'm bias because Hakaze is my favorite character, but seriously, once Hakaze actually came back from the island (or, forward, more specifically), the show has improved. O:

And more Hamlet. I approve.
