"Humor... Yeah..." Yaru said weakly as he was shoved into the house. He glanced around warily, looking for anything that seemed out of place or like it didn't quite belong on Telara. "You... Don't have a cat, do you?" He asked.

OCC I think I should make them have one just to mess with Yaru's brain... Lol

Just then a grey cat with green eyes jumped up on the kitchen counter.
Miakoda looked at Yaru, "Is Mittens going to be a problem? He's supposed to be mom's but he likes Gramps better."

Gramps scratched Mitten's chin.

Yaru stared at the cat, It doesn't seem to be the same one... That doesn't mean it isn't... "If he bites, I'm biting back." He said flatly.

Miakoda looked at him funny, "Alright, but he won't bite. Mittens is a sweetheart."

The tea kettle started whistling. "Waters done! Now, what kind of tea do you prefer, Yaru? I'm sure whatever it is we've got it!" Gramps opened a cabinet to show him the many teas they had in stock.

Yaru quelled the urge to say 'cat' in response to the question, "Just plain purple, thanks." He said instead, still keeping an eye on the 'sweetheart' cat.

"Ah good choice!" Gramps got it out. "How about you Miakoda?"

While he was asking this question, Mittens decided he loved Yaru. He came up to him and started rubbing against his shin and purring.

"Oh, I'll have teraia tea please!"

"Also a good choice!"

Yaru was decidedly unimpressed with the feline's show of affection, he deftly picked it up by the scruff of the neck -which, it occurred to him, he was getting plenty of practice with lately- and tossed it across the room, but not as hard as he would have if it were Violo. His self-justification was, 'it's a cat, it'll land on it's feet.'

Moving much quicker than he should've, gramps skillfully caught Mittens midair.

"Oh, gramps! Your hip!"

"It's fine!" He replied stubbornly. "Not much of a cat person are you?" He laughed.

"More like I give what I get." Yaru replied dryly. The old man moving like some Old Earth assassin -what were they called, minjas?- didn't even surprise him, he was, after all, related to Miakoda.

"Ah," he gave the family mischief grin. "Now here's your tea. So about this camping trip, you're going to need a tent. But not just any kind, you'll need one with several functions. It has to be well camouflaged and strap itself to trees as well as work on the ground depending what part of the forest you camp in each night. I've got one," he bustled into the back and quickly returned. "This will do. It also will mask your scent with Earth line scent. The beasties don't like the smell of pine. I've also got a map and a compass you can take. Miakoda is a solid navigator, you won't get lost." He gave a wink.

"Thanks gramps! We appreciate it!"

Yaru glanced at Miakoda when her grandfather mentioned she was a good navigator, if there was one thing he didn't doubt, it was her survival skills outside the wall. "Thank you," He said to the elder man, "We really appreciate your helping us."

"No problem! I'll come up with a good story for your mom," his smile was wider on one side.

Miakoda took another sip of hot tea, "So, what kind of food should we bring, and water containers?"

"Well, canned foods are good, don't smell so strongly of food. But you shouldn't cook anything. Bring plenty of fruit, little meat. You can pack plenty of bread."

Yaru took a sip of his tea, it was quite good. "Other than 'run and hide', do you have any advice for if we get attacked by something out there?" He asked.

"Like I said, they don like Earth pine. I've got some pine spray you could use, I won't be using it anytime soon. Also Koda's knife should come in handy. And I've got some other things if you're interested, Yaru."

Yaru looked at Miakoda's knife, he wasn't entirely sure it was a knife, more of a letter opener compared to the teeth of the beast from yesterday (I HAD to!). He looked back to her grandfather, "We'll need everything we can get." He said.

(Lol) "Right this way sir, miss." He showed them to a cabinet full of things.

OCC help me out with describing the weapons inside. Particularly what you'd want your character to have.

Koda grinned. Her mother didn't let her look at this cabinet often enough. She grabbed a knife like hers and eyed a bow and high tech laser arrows. But the thing she stared at most was a rod. It looked simple enough, but she knew at the touch of a button she would release an ax that's edge could turn incredibly hot.

Yaru didn't let himself get overwhelmed by the sheer stuffness of it all, instead he just grabbed the first thing that caught his eye. He came up with a short-handled object with a large circle at one end, he pressed a button and from the wider end came a bunch of... Spikes? When Yaru put his hand on them they poked, but bent, like bristles. He looked at the handle and saw a label on it, it said, 'Super Cat Groomer'. He threw it back into the cabinet and took the next thing.
He ended up taking an odd spherical object, it seemed to be made of some kind of foreign metal and was heavier than a rock of it's size, which was close to that of a softball. He had no idea what it was which made it perfectly appealing. "I'll take this." He said.

OOC: This will be fun... Hehehe.

Miakoda pressed the button to her ax, "Cinder Ax. If you hit Violo with that, I'll hit you with this." She was very serious.

"I see you like the merchandise," gramps winked. "You'll have a lot of fun, I know."

Yaru looked warily at the axe, "If you can swing it properly, then I will heed that threat." He said, then turned back to her grandfather, "Yes, I think this will be fun." He said.

Miakoda took a step into empty space and swung her ax with great precision, "I've had practice."

Gramps grinned at his granddaughter, "I taught her myself." He then proceeded to give his classic wink.

"I swear on that axe, I wont hit the thing with this." Yaru said immediately. Miakoda with an ax was scarier than that thing from yesterday.

Miakoda looked satisfied and with the pressing of the button, the ax became a rod again.
"So, Yaru, you run back home and pack your things. We'll meet at the secret door in say... Will an hour be enough? Or do you want two?"

OCC: Timeskip.

Koda was at the entrance with all her supplies. She was ready for an adventure. As she waited she couldn't help but think of the girl from earlier that day. She looked like a girl who needed some excitement. What was her name? Eva? Perhaps next time... For now, Koda looked forward to an adventure with her friend.

Yaru arrived at the entrance just a moment later, right on time at precisely an hour. He carried a small backpack with him, inside was his most basic necessities, including a change of clothes, his Allbrush (toothbrush, hairbrush, toilet brush, technology is amazing), a spare battery for his sword, and a few other items. "Ready?" He asked.

OCC lol but is technology hygienic? XD

"Ready." She unlocked the door and they quickly went inside the tunnel. "So, Gramps says if we are gone this long, we can do some terrific exploring, and he placed everything on the map."

Yaru came in after her, shutting the door behind them. How far do you think we can get?" He asked, although it wasn't the most pressing question on his mind, but that could still wait.

Miakoda gave her trademark grin, "Farther than some of the villages. No one has ever tried traveling that far. We could be the first if you want to go that far."
