Michigan CAA fans? JAFAX anyone?

Postby Mave » Thu Jun 03, 2004 7:09 pm

Say, is anyone in CAA from Michigan? Michigan State Uni? Uni of Michigan? Grand Rapids at least?

If so, are you planning to go to JAFAX?

It's the Japanese Animation, Film, and Art eXpo, an annual two-day event held on the Allendale campus of Grand Valley State University.
Check out more about it at http://www.jafax.org/

It's gonna be held this June 26th and 27th and best of all, I heard the admission is FREE!! I came upon it today and was getting all excited about it...until I realized I had something else planned on those days. :bang: :bang: I'm so dumb!!!

Well, I don't really know how good it is coz I've never been to a single anime convention. Perhaps someone else could tell me all about it.

I'm also hoping someone from here could go there and promote CAA in some way. I would have done it if my schedule permitted me.

Oh well, there's always next year for me. I'll be more prepared then in cosplaying and showcasing artworks ^_^

Whoa.... Never even heard about this! :forehead: I live less then two hours away from there. And my grandparents live about 15 minutes away from the campus.

I think I smell a roadtrip....

Errrr... does that mean a soap box or just litter the place with posters/flyers?

What??? Only one Michigan member?? *goes to the corner to sulk*

Lehn, if I was going for the event, I would have secured a spot at Artists Alley. At that spot, I would have had some promotional poster or something. I think pasting some CAA flyers around during the event would be a good idea. But I don't know whether you're allowed to do that though, I've never been to any conventions before. I don't know the rules! ^_^;;;;;;

It falls during the 4 months when I'm not in GR. I'm stuck in IL right now, and my parents wouldn't even let me go to Acen, which is IN THIS STATE! No way they're going to let me drive back to Michigan. Errg! :shady: :waah!: :mutter: :shake: :sniffle:

I live in Illinois, so it wouldn't be too bad a trip for me. I'll have to go check out the website. The only anime con I've ever been to is ACen.
