Hello Everyone!

Postby Madeline » Tue Apr 27, 2004 12:58 pm

I've been browsing around the site for a while, and I decided that it's about time I introduce myself. :) For a long time I have felt that God was leading me here. I've been in quite a few forums since I first became interested in anime, and I felt that God was leading me away from them, as I began to conform to the beliefs of those around me, and it even got to the point where I had trouble confessing my faith to my friends. All the time, He was telling me that He had something better in mind. For a long time now, I have been dipping my toe into the water, and trying to get a feel for what anime's good, and what I should stay away from. I'm not the type of person to compromise my moral standards, and much less my beliefs; ever since Jesus has been working in my heart. So far I haven't given up on my non-Christian friends, I've pushed the topic of religion a few times; but they seem to be really good a changing the subject. So far I've gotten "my place is on the dark side" and "the Bible can't answer my questions", including the "yeah, I've heard it all before. I'm tired of having baptism pushed on me"...So here I am, looking to start over and to find a place in which I can safely pursue my passion for manga and anime, in an environment with people that lift me up instead of suffocating my faith and tormenting me with sleepless nights and unbearable guilt. At least I know I'm saved! :P God really is chasing after me, although sometimes it feels like He's hunting me down instead.
------
Thanks for the tip! Very helpful. :) I guess we all go searching for something better when God calls us, hmm?
------
Wow, awesome! We should make up an acronym for G.O.O.G.L.E and make it a club or something! How fun :) Thanks guys for paying attention to all of us newbies...I'm used to being shut out for a day or two before people actually noticed I was there and posting messages :shady:
Wow, that smiley was really un-smiley...:P There. All better!
------
Thanks for the welcome! You are all very nice here, I think I'll be very at home. I can't wait to see and post in all of the forums! Right now I don't have much time, but I'll check out everything I can. :)
------
Meh, thanks everyone for all of the virtual goodies and stuff! And thank you Potbelliedcow for the plushie, I popped his eye out on accident but that's okay! I named him Ichi Manako, Ako for short :) I typed a really long message before but my login screwed up so meh...:P Well, everything's okay now! :D I think...

I'm hoping to get to know you all, and I'm really glad that this site exists.
I really do believe that I was lead here by God. Who knew God would choose to work through Google?! :D Seriously! I saw the page when I was half-asleep, with the keywords "Christian Anime" in the search box. What a revelation!

Revelations from God: Working Through Google

Postby Madeline » Tue Apr 27, 2004 1:07 pm

Actually, I meant, what a way to recieve a revelation.
No scrolls that taste like honey and make your stomach go sour,
no trumpets, no angels, no seven-eyed animals or things beyond description...just Google. Well, I'm here, so thanks God! :)
Sometimes it's loads more fun when God uses the simple and trivial things of this world to bring you something wonderful! Something to laugh about, you know! Here it is again; my favorite smiley! I love that cute little laughing face...*hugs smiley*

Welcome, Madeline.

Just a friendly note: you can always edit your posts with the "Edit" button on each post you make. That way you can avoid making consecutive posts and still add on thoughts that you may have forgot to add in your initial post. It is generally considered polite behavior in forums to avoid consecutive posting.

About the Google thing, I arrived at this site using the same search parameters.

Enjoy your stay here.
Find me on Steam, PlayStation Network (OmegaAmen), Backloggery, Twitter, and Twitch.tv

I am also in the Christian gaming group, Tribe of Judah in the Christian Gamers Alliance.

Hi Madeline, welcome to CAA!

Yes, it is wonderful how God has led each of us here in our own way, but everyone in His way, to come together as a community of believers.

So what are your favorite anime/manga series?

Welcome, Madeline!

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

Welcome! :lick:

By the way, I'm pretty sure Omega Amen didn't mean you shouldn't ever post twice in a thread. It's kinda' confusing as to who you're answering when you put all responses in the first post. He just meant that it's generally better not to post twice in a row, when you can just go back and edit what you forgot to say in your last post. :)

Hi and welcome! ^_^

YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Should we ever 'fail', God already knew that. God is never suprised by anything we do or any messups we made. Ultimately God's plan is perfect and we shall spend our lives continously being suprised by what God does in our lives.

Our Mission: Continue to serve God and share the Gospel as best as we can. That is all. Don't worry for the end result is already written. Everything is in God's timing.

Our Responsibility: We must diligently study the Bible, pray often, and ask each other questions so that we may accurately communicate the Word of God.

Oro! ^^x *waves*

Welcome, Madeline-dono, who bears a very cool signature!
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

Yes. ^^
I didn't draw the picture, but I did tweak it a little and put some brushes on it.
Normally when I put one of my poems on something I fade the text or blur it so that no one will read it, but I suppose a poem is what makes it special...so I didn't alter it very much. It's quite legible.
