I always watch this show after The Family Guy(Which I also adore too) on Adult Swim. Anyways does anyone else watch it, care for it or is an avid fan like me.

I like how Frylocks' common sense goes along with Shake's self appointed personality and Meatwad's naivete. The show also does a good job poking a little fun at pop culture, I particulary loved the one about the internet and constant windows promping up including pyramid schemes, credit card offers and poker games. I plan on getting the series on DVD, but right now I'm too poor so I'll wait until the money comes in next week. = )

i gotta go with the plutoniums as best characters......

or the ghost of christmas past....

Ghost: "THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO, before the dawn of man as we knew him, there was Sir Santa of Claus, an ape-like creature making crude and pointless toys out of dino bones and his own waste, hurling them at chimp-like creatures with crinkled hands regardless of how they behaved the previous year. These so-called "toys" were buried as witches, and defecated upon, and hurled at predators when wakened by the searing grunts of children. It wasn't a holly jolly Christmas that year. For many were killed.

Frylock: Well, that still doesn't tell me why you...

Ghost: I'm not finished. YOU should have gotten a snack. A war-like race of elves from the Red Planet landed on the ice-encased Earth, and they were immediately enslaved by the unevolved Santa Ape to make his confused toys using galactic elfin technology. Toys were made into recognizable shapes and given names like "train," but these toys were also thrown at predators and defecated upon because they were so stupid. Christmas still sucked, in a big way. "

hehe...

Eh, it's not a bad show at all. Pretty humorous at times, when the writers are in certain moods. I would also have to go with Frylock as my favorite character, for reasons of sanity.

Meanwhile, I'm going to move this to Anime. It isn't, really, but In The Spotlight is for movies. This at least runs on a channel that has anime.

I love the Moonitites they are just so sarcastic and seem to overwhelm Shake and co. I got a shirt to in support of them, I am glad others love this show. I just got DVD 1 and plan to get DVD 2, oh and Meatwad is so darn funny. I love the episode when he constantly plays his loud obnoxious rap. At the end, he finds out his rap hero was nothing more than an alien.

I wouldn't consider any of that trash Anime. You think that perverted, idiotic shows like that are worthwhile to watch?

Ok, first off we already clarified it wasn't anime. Secondly, why on earth would you come to a thread filled with fans of it and then tell them it is perverted and idiotic? That's exactly the kind of behavior that makes my job and the rest of my staff's jobs ten billion times harder. Is it ok to say you don't like it? Sure. But for pete's sake, can't you say it nicely? Or better yet, just don't put your nose into a thread that you don't like.

Ashley has made the most important point, but allow me to say something more: anime has a great deal of perverted idiotic shows as well. Equal to American animation, most likely, though by American standards of decency probably worse. Anime is in no way more sacred than anything else in particular, it's a medium and that is all it will ever be.

I moved this thread in error, and I apologize to the thread author; you created it correctly.

I am not the person best equipped to answer your question, but I will make an effort to do so now. Aqua Teens Hunger Force is a comedy on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. It is in the league of Sealab 2021, in that it runs in 15 minute episodes.

Our heros are three people that look like living pieces of food (Frylock, Shake and Meatwad). They do various heroic things and battle an assortment of villains, but mainly just run around doing stupid things that are funny.

Haha, I like ATHF. Family Guy's funny too but it doesn't appeal to me as much. All the characters make the show hilarious but Frylock's my favorite. I like to watch Futurama, Sealab, Harvey Birdman, and Space Ghost too.

On that related topic, I think that Sealab 2021 is one of the most humorous regular shows I have seen in a long time. It's even vaguely clean, though obviously it is still an Adult Swim title. I wouldn't want to speak for the entire series, either, as I haven't seen that much of it.

That's what makes it utterly compelling, because it just doesn't make any sense. I still wonder why there are no humans showed other than Carl. Although I think in one episode Frylock was throwing a party because he got fed up of living with Shake and Meatwad, and one human was shown. He didn't want to stay for the party because he thought they were all freaks.

And those who said they love Family Guy and Sealab, kudos to you. I still haven't watched Harvey Birdman yet.

There is a great deal of merit in randomness, when properly used. In my mind, that is part of what makes the show humorous.

And Inferno I warn you to stay away from this garbage, IMO.

"If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." --John 8:7

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged"--Matthew 7:1

I think the Bible is pretty clear on your behavior, Kenchii. Since when are you the model Christian and ultimate perfection to be telling others what is or is not acceptable to watch? Last I checked, you were a sinner no better than any of the rest of us, so what gives you the right, I ask, to come down with such a condescending tone? Normally I would not be so harsh but with your attitude I think it's necessary.

God created each of us with a unique and personal sense of what is and is not acceptable for us and we were not created to judge one another or hold each other to our personal standards. Some things are definate no-nos for Christians, like murder, but what TV show you watch is not one of these definates. As we have always said, it is a matter between you and the Lord.

I wish I didn't have to say this, but if you can't post something intelligent or nice, don't post anything at all. Otherwise you'll find yourself dismissed from this site.

It's not that I have a problem with your "opinions and stature and beliefs", I just have an issue with the way you expressed them. It's fine to express a differing view, even an extreme one, if you can do so with respect and common courtesy instead of ranting and outbursts. Besides, if you learn to control yourself and express your views wisely, others will respect you and your beliefs a lot more even if they are different from theirs. They might even be persuaded to see things from your side too.

Now I think this thread has been derailed long enough; let's let the fans get back to talking about their show and you and I can continue this conversation in PM if you feel the need to.
