Remember, earth ponies are the only ones who can grow food, which is kind of an important thing.

Unicorn is top choice for me. Magic is cool and stuff.

I would choose pegasus just because I'd like to fly and live in a cloud XD

I'd choose earth pony because I like to work with my hands (or hooves in that case) and enjoy helping with gardening/growing plants --I also enjoy floral design (one of the most fun classes I ever took as an undergrad). Quiet, simple life for me. :)

So I saw this thread and went to see what all the hype was about... I got through all of it and then felt like I'd swallowed an entire package of powdered sugar donuts.

And now I kind of want to see more. >.>
This was unexpected.
But I want to watch it legally and there's only one ep on hub.com. Suggestions?

Unfortunately, Hub and its website are the only places to see it legally, unless Hulu's got it (I wouldn't know). There haven't been any DVD releases.

Yep, iTunes has all of Season 1 and is releasing Season 2 episodes as they air. Unfortunately, it seems that you can only get them on iTunes if you live in the U.S. which is kinda silly, but that's just the way it is right now. A 5-episode DVD is going to be released in February, but that's about all the options we have right now, sadly :/

It hit me that we have a DVR xD I just set it to tape it whenever it comes on.
Of course, watching My Little Pony on the family TV was a little awkward, but I told my 14-y-o brother that he would get 'major bro points' if he watched it with me.
At one point, he said through a giggle fit, "This is so funny!"
Later on he denied it, stating that he used the word 'clever.' He has no one fooled. ;D

Tara Strong is an incredibly versatile actress, isn't she? o.o From Raven to Timmy Turner to Twilight.

Hah. Tell your brother he'll be joining us soon. xD

Yes, Tara Strong is awesome. She also did Harley Quinn from Arkham City and Arkham Asylum. She was Terrance in Foster's home for Imaginary Friends.
And was also Ben Tennyson from Ben 10.

It would be a hard decision but I'd be a unicorn. I would not ACT like one however.

Anyone know when the next episode comes out?

Iiii think he's in :'D We always skip the theme song, since it's more than we can take (rofl) and whenever the announcer-man says "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will be back" we make lots of noise. xD
Just now he yelled "friendship is GUTS because... you kinda need it. Sometimes."

I love that kid.

Also, to add to this ongoing conversation, I would definitely be a pegasus so I could zoom all over tarnation. CB

Applebloom ep. YES. Also means Scoot and Sweet will be showing up most likely.

Also did you know that boomerang does FiM in the united kingdom and Cartoon network does it in New Zealand?

Agreed about the question being answered, but...
Wouldn't Granny Smith be like over 300 years old if she was alive before Ponyville was founded? Or did the town spring up THAT quickly? Hmm...
I'm wondering the same thing about
Princess Celestia. Has she just... not aged in 300 years? Or is this a different Celestia? Or am I serious missing something? :'D
Well, who knows how long ponies live? But I think it's been established that Alicorns live to be at least 1,000 years.

Luna DE-aged when she came back from 1000 years on the moon so I think i's safe to say that alicorns don't really age the same way other ponies do (or possibly at all if they choose not to). As for granny smith, I just think that ponyville hasn't been around that long. I actually had the experience of knowing someone much like Granny Smith when I was a kid, who lived in the area the town was in before all the houses were around, and watched the whole place get built over the her life. Ponyville isn't very big, so I think it's just probably about 75 or 80 years old.

@Bio It wasn't my all time favorite episode either, but I did enjoy seeing a whole new side to Granny Smith, and learning more about Ponyville's history. I think it's cool that the show fleshes out its side characters like that. It really shows how much care and love goes into the show, I think.

And hmm, both your and mechana's ideas are quite plausible, but I'm not sure what I think, yet. Although I wouldn't say they are immortal like elves are... but maybe they have a longer life span than we would assume based on humans... It's probably one of those things that it's best not too think too much about, like why Celestia and Luna were on the flag when Equestria was founded, even though they supposedly weren't around yet...

Edit: Oh, in other news, I finally broke down and bought that figurine set that I shared earlier. Best. Purchase. Ever!

I have to agree with this, this is very true. And I suppose the artists who made young Granny Smith fanart before must be thrilled about this episode.

So, after seeing how popular this show is (especially among men), I decided to watch. Overall, it's not my favorite show, but I think it's cute. I think I can kind of see why guys are more into it, because boy ponies seem to play more of a role (I think this is actually the first version of MLP to include male pegasus and unicorn characters, but I could be wrong about that). I do like that it shows a lot of positive messages about friendship, too. I'm really impressed with how deep the messages on friendship are, to be totally honest. So, overall, it's not really a "me" kind of show (I'm usually more into gothic kind of stuff, but Winnie-the-Pooh is definitely my personal exception), but I would give it a positive review for the great messages it sends. :)

@mysngoeshere56: Glad you enjoy it, even if it's not totally your thing! (although I'm warning you, there's a good chance it will infect you and some way, some how, defying all reason and logic, become completely your thing XD)

The new episode this morning was just... man, so spot on. Pinkie is usually my favorite pony (it changes often), and she was downright hilarious as usual!
Man, those are some TALENTED babies! Pumpkin Cake puts Twilight to shame when it comes to raw talent. And Pound Cake can fly at one month old? If Scootaloo finds out, she will be completely crushed!

Also, Pinkie with a diaper on her head is just comic gold any way you look at it. :)
