Since Mask's End of Fiction: Epilogue died before it could really get going, I'm making this RP in it's honor. :3 However, this is more on the Code Lokyo/Spy Kids 3 side. This is kinda long, but bear with me please. Here goes...

in 2030 a revolutionary RPG game was created in Japan. It's name was Disukaba-Seken (Discover-World in English) This game was about exploring different environments and trying to figure out how to progress to the next environment. There were no instructions, NPCs or obvious quests. You had to figure it out for yourself by using your abilities and items in your surroundings. Besides this, there was an amazing element to the game. You could actually go inside the game. It was true virtual reality. To do that you had to go inside the actual game base and play it. Soon after Disukaba-Seken was released, it was almost flooded by game lovers. It got numerous high ratings, and the creator and his team profited greatly. However, as time went by the other members of the team started noticing that the creator of the game was starting to act very strange. He would work in his office all day and never speak to anyone at all. He always came out having a wild look in his eyes. However they just passed it off as stress from perhaps working on the sequel that so many people demanded for. Then one day, several gamers went into the game booths as usual. However, when their playing time was up, they never came back out. When the team went to investigate, they found that all the gamers were gone! At the same time, the game's creator was discovered missing as well. When the authorities came, they shut down the game base to investigate. However, the never found the players, nor the creator. The base was permanently shut down and roped off. As the years went by, it was forgotten...

What everyone didn't know was the players had actually been sucked into the game! And the one who sucked them in was none other than the game's creator. He was testing out a new technology for the sequel game, and had tested it on himself and the players. When the base was shut down, he went crazy with rage and disappointment. Building a new world in the game for a lab base, he locked the players inside it, and kept stealing thier life points so that he could create machines that would let him take revenge on the rest of mankind.

It's been 100 years since then. Everyone has forgotten about Disukaba-Seken. But something strange is happening. People are starting to disappear without a trace, and no one knows what is going on.

Ok, so everyone starts in an Academy in Japan called Akaaka Omoi. (Or Bright Minds) It's a very popular Adademy that schools grades K all the way through college. Often graduates from the Academy are geniuses of the highest class. It's located pretty close to the old Disukaba-Seken game base. You can get from one building to the other by route of a secret tunnel in the Academy's basement.

More about the Game:
Disukaba-Seken has four Environments, plus the one that the creator made as his base:

1)Modan(Modern): This is a large modern city, modeled after New York. However, since there are no NPCs or anything, the place is completely deserted. Sure, it has stores with actual wares, and buildings that seem to have been used very recently, but no one is there at all.

2)Fantaji(Fantasy): This is an enchanted forest, with small fantasy creatures of all types that hardly grow past 5 or 6 inches. (with the exception of humanoid ones like elves, centaurs and the like) Though none of them seem intelligent enough to tell you anything...(Don't let that fool you. They're smarter than they look!) There's also evidence of humanoid inhabitants here as well, for there are big trees that have been hollowed out to use as homes.

3)Jouki(Steam): This is another city, but the difference is that this one is a steam punk one. There all all kinds of devices and things powered by steam. But again, there are no inhabitants.

4)Shourai(Future): Yet another city, only this time it's a scifi one! There are robots by the hundreds here, but they don't pay you any mind. Even when you do get their attention, you find they only talk in squeaks, beeps, and warbles. That doesn't help much. No people here again...

5)Chika(Underground): This is the creator's very extensive lab. There are many rooms that are all connected by long tunnels. Be very careful here, for you'll find yourself face-to-face with the big baddie completely without warning!

Bio: Akita is the only daughter of a very rich family. Her parents are always busy or going to parties, so Akita hardly ever sees them. Everyone at school avoids her because they all think she's stuck up, so Akita's pretty lonely.

Appearance: Seabrook is a pretty unremarkable-looking kid, compared to everyone else at the academy: he is slightly below the average height of the students, and has Asian features, short dark hair, and is rarely seen wearing something besides his school uniform, embellished with a platinum ring on his right hand.

Bio: He doesn't say much about his time before the academy, or much of anything at all, really; his parents are pretty clearly loaded, though. He loves all the computer classes the academy has to offer, and is the person on campus to call if your compy goes bust; he has an extensive setup of his own in his dorm room.

In-Game:

Appearance(in E1): A tall, slender, middle-aged man with a knee-length jacket, with a long flop of white hair over one eye, and a quiet smile. He carries a jeweled cane that ends in a vicious, three-pronged point that he can heat up to leave brands or burns.

Appearance(in E2): An armored warrior woman, in ornate, somewhat form-fitting dark-gray plate armor and a spear. She usually wears a helmet, hiding her long red hair and striking green eyes.

Appearance(In E3): A bald-headed man with dark brass goggles, fitted into a massive steam-powered exoskeleton that has an equally massive plasma cannon on one arm.

Appearance(In E4): A cool-headed space marine type, wearing lacquered reactive polymer armor. He carries a standard-issue battle rifle, loaded with explosive shells.

Appearance(in E5): He's never had to visit Chika, and doesn't want to, what with the stories he's heard about what happens there. Therefore, he doesn't have an appearance for his character there.

Weapon: Spear or cannon, usually charged with fire/explosives.

Primary Power: Self-shielding.
Secondary Power(in E1): Shape-shifting.
Secondary Power(in E2): Pyrokinesis, controlled through her spear.

This ability only lasts 2 minutes and has a "cooldown" of about 30 minutes.

Secondary Power(in E1): Knowledge of advanced martial arts techniques. (Like Bruce Lee!)

Secondary Power(in E2): Uses "Aura" to deal long distance attacks or heal.

Bio:He moved to Japan 5 years ago and SOMEHOW managed to pass the entrance exam. He is a otaku,gamer,nerd but keeps it a secret because he doesn't want to be "that american kid". He is revaltively un noticed at school...maybe that will all change. He is the best at video games.

Personality: Korrina will come off to post people as hot-headed and aggressive. She speaks her mind and doesn't care what others may have to say about her oppinion on something. However, once she makes a friend, she is loyal and would protect them with her life. She has a strong passion for justice, and that may be what gives her such a temperamental attitude. She does, though, have a soft side. It's just not shown very often.

Bio: Korrina moved from America to Japan just two years before she turned 14. It was a big adjustment for her, and she seperated herself from the other students, not liking the major cultural difference. She doesn't like school, but she sees anyone who doesn't at least try their best as weaklings.

Time to post the villain; we seem to be heading that way anyway, so, here it be!

In game
Title: Vitriolus
Appearance: Its favored appearance is as a huge, six-armed humanoid, clad in angular black armor, with massive, glowing hands. Parts of it seem to phase in and out of the game world, and it leaves a trail of blank holes in the ground, as if the game had forgotten to render them. Objects in the game, like monsters or trees, disappear on contact with it. As for characters... it's not quite clear what happens to them.

Powers: Shapeshifting

Environment shifting - Vitriolus can transform the environment around it, changing them into traps for unlucky players or into hideous, twisted shapes, pieces of the ground twisted inward on itself. This power is strongest when it is closest to the underground labs.

Creation - It can summon robotic monsters out of thin air.

Out of game

Nothing is known about its existence outside of Disukuba-Seken; attempts to scan it or determine who's behind it have all failed. It doesn't have any username or stats attached to it, and all attempts to contact the game's developers about it have failed.

Bio: It's unclear how long it's been around, but it's slipped into the legends of the game, the ghost stories that get told to gullible newbies on the forums that pretty much everyone else just ignores or tries to disprove. Most people just consider it a stupid joke played by the devs, and secretly pray they don't run into it.
